Again, I'm not saying that. I'm saying I don't condone it, wouldn't do it myself, but I would not discriminate against those who do it.

Condone may not be the right word... my main point is that I don't like the idea of it for myslef or those close to me, I would not do it, but I will not discriminate against those who do.

Everyone should start by acknowledging that Forlorn KNOWS he's in the minority on this one and is just trying to have a discussion. Respect on both sides, all.

I have nothing disrespectful to say. Just figured it wouldn't hurt to throw in some words from a real live gay. haha

I know I didn't ask anyone to sign me up for it. There are arguments from both gays and straights (damn you guys) about whether or not people are born this way. I personally don't know and don't argue either way. But from personal experience I wouldn't doubt that, much like many other things, it could have a lot to do with how life is when you're growing up. It may sound really dumb but my dad was never around and I always had this feeling like I needed to be the one to "take care of" and "protect" my mom and maybe that's where those feelings stem from? Idk, everyone's situations are different. Just because someone is homosexual doesn't mean they had a traumatizing childhood or whatever. Alls I know is I was attracted to females long before I knew what gay was or that there was anything "wrong" with it.

I explain myself poorly, because I don't know the proper way to describe myself. I was taught it was wrong, and I don't really have an explanation past that.

As a counterexample, growing up in Texas you were also taught cows are delicious. Maybe if you'd been born in a different place you would have been brought up vegetarian. If you had been born in India, you'd obviously have a very different opinion of cows.
