Pokemon Conquest DS

Post by Mechblue »

I'm really interested in playing this game and didn't realize it was already out but I'm having a lot of trouble tracking down one in stores. Anyone know why this game is really hard to find?

Walmart, Fred Meyer, Toys R US, Best Buy, Target, all sold out. Even GameStop has limited stock at $5 higher than everyone else. I don't know that i've seen such a lack of a new game since Skyrim.

I smell a future collector's item, I'm hearing that same story on all the forums I go to.

Is that a 3DS XL in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me? ~ZeroAX

it seems to be really flying under the radar, haven't seen a single commercial for it and so far it has top reviews from a few places. I'm guessing they went out on a limb for this game thinking it could flop? or because it is a DS and not a 3DS game they don't promote it.

Is it really that hard to find?

I saw some at Toys R Us, though I did pre-order mine from Gamestop since I can't trust such a niche spin-off to be in high demand.

I just requested some from the warehouse of the small chain store I work for. But yeah I haven't heard much about it either, have only seen the commercial a few times.

I guess Nintendo severely underestimated demand; I'm sure they'll do another run, but it might take a while.

Ok, so just an update. Picked it up at a local gamestop yesterday, it was the only copy they had. Little side story here, I mentioned how hard it was to find and how they were selling it for $5 more, he says "hmm, maybe they were having a sale?" Yes, every single store except gamestop is having a sale on a brand new game.

So far I'm loving this game, came out of a 10+ year Pokemon retirement for this, so better be good! So far it looks like they're offering a bit of support on their official site with some passwords to unlock some Pokemon and even a downloadable piece via Nintendo's network. So DLC right off the bat!

Refer to the manual, as they actually put a good amount of info in it on the game's working that isn't fully explained in the game. Overall I'm diggin' it, combat is pretty straight forward, very Final Fantasy Tactics advanced, and reminds me of the classic Koei epic strategy games minus the 1/4 of a life time investment.

My main complaints would be some times I accidentally click wait instead of attack and bam that's that, no confirmation, maybe space those buttons out a bit? If I visit an item shop, or heal up it uses up the person for the turn. Kind of sucks as why does visiting a store require a person be busy for a WHOLE MONTH.

Try to use a Japanese sounding name, seems like it blends in a bit more with the story. Thankfully my collection of L5R cards offered no shortage of feudal japan names. 8)

PS: Wasn't Mew Two created in a Lab some time in the future?

Yes he was cloned from Mew DNA

Popular speculation is that Ditto started as a failed Mew clone.

But then why does one of the feudal lords have Mewtwo?
