I bet it would. The only question is whether or not it would have support for some of the more advanced chips (like the ones found in the FC version of Castlevania III).
If it is a NOAC, it won't play those special games. You open it and look at it, but usually you can tell if it is a nes on a chip with a look on the exterior

The Disk System plugs into the Famicom cartridge slot and... that's it. As long as there is room for the adapter to plug in, it would probably work I would think.

That's the one, except mine has N64 and Sega Genesis rip-off controllers.
There's a cartridge slot on the back of the "N64" controller.
Also, BurningDoom, I would suggest getting a super cheap game to test it because I've read that the Power Player kinda sucks at playing Famicom games. Of course now I can't find exactly where I read that so I can't link you to it but better safe than sorry.

The NOAC it's really cheap famiclone, it won't play some games with special chips or it will play them horribly. The regular games should go fine, but yeah try a cheap game first to see how works.

So it's more like this one:
I love the famiclones
I have one similar to that but just has build in games, no slot for famicom cartridges
Still a little different. Mine doesn't have a cartridge, the games are just built-in, and the Sega Genesis controller doesn't come with a cool joystick, but you can see the hole where one should be. And it was unopened.
Ugh, Famicoms are very affordable so just do yourself a favor and get real hardware. I like many of the games that people have mentioned so far, and here are my favorites that I own that were not mentioned (not including FDS games):
Arkanoid II, Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, Goonies, Holy Diver, Joy Mecha Fight, Layla, Mitsume ga Tooru, Moai Kun, Parodius, Pooyan, Twin Bee, Twin Bee 3, and Wai Wai World 1 and 2.
Even though Crisis Force isn't cheap it is a fantastic game and well worth owning. Akumaju Densetsu (Castlevania III) is also worth grabbing for the expanded audio and Grant throwing his daggers.
There are many other great games that are very playable if you don't mind a little use of FAQs to handle the Japanese.
