I never was much of a fan of the He-Man cartoon, but I seem to remember She-Ra being the better of the two the few times I watched.BurningDoom wrote:I watched She-Ra with my sister.

You wanna talk infomercials, let's look at the CD-I infomercial. I saw it once and was traumatized for life.

Here are a few:
-He-Man (it's pretty bad now)
-Robotech (it's awesome!)
-Captain N (very bad and cheesy)
-The Super Mario Bros. Super Show (Captain Lou!)
-WWF Superstars (yeah!!! Hulk, Macho Man, British Bulldogs, Killer Bees, Beefcake, Hard Foundation, etc.)
-Voltron
-PeeWee's Playhouse (I didn't like it, but my friends did. All I wanted to do when this was on was play some 2600 or NES)
-Gummy Bears (fun!)
-Care Bears (having sisters caused this one...)
-Duck Tails (YEAH! Also Rescue Rangers, Tail Spin and Darkwing Duck. DT was the best.)
-The REAL Ghostbusters (funny they say "real" when it's a cartoon...)
-TMNT (I didn't really ever get into this. Some friends liked it, so I watched with them. The only TMNT I liked was in my NES)
-GI Joe (I thought it was cheesy even then)
-Transformers (never really thought much of it)
-MASK (BETTER than Transformers in my view!)

they called it that because there was another show called "Ghostbusters"
But most everyone forgot this series.
I dont remember it and I've seen some pics on-line. There are DVDs of this series but I dont pay attention to it.
When I was little "the real ghost busters" cartoon scared me.
Im sure you can google the other series

I actually barely remember anything from this show other than I know I watched it a lot. If it's ending is as good as you say it I'd be interested in rewatching it sometime.Ivo wrote:Just to make it clear, this show isn't ridiculous at all. That cartoon is awesome and I would say holds up today (perhaps not the greatest animation quality).Sideroller wrote:On a more serious note, I watched this religiously as a child:
I give you David the Gnome
Do you remember the amazing ending (don't spoil it if you do)? This show has an extremely impressive ending that in my opinion rivals most "adult" shows, and it was for kids. I heartily recommend everyone to see some episodes. If you are really tight on time and can't stand the dated animation quality, at least watch the ending (although it won't be the same without getting to know the characters more).

"It's not for kids Phil."

Re: Ridiculous Stuff You'd Watch As a Kid
If you sort of remember the show, David the gnome is basically a doctor / veterinary / wise gnome that goes around helping other gnomes and animals. It is educational but not boring to watch, which isn't always easy to achieve.Sideroller wrote: I actually barely remember anything from this show other than I know I watched it a lot. Gnomes get along very well with animals and David travels on his fox, Swift most of the time.
Many episodes involve trolls as antagonists, trolls are mostly brutish bullies. The gnomes usually prevail by outsmarting them, but I don't think that the gnomes are ever needlessly cruel to them and there is an episode where David he takes rescues a troll baby until to return him to his family.
The series mostly covers themes of friendship and caring for nature, sometimes covering quite deep themes like in the last episode. I thought it was extremely touching and beautiful. Very unusual for kids shows which often didn't even have endings.
Ivo.
