I know guys that are about 30 and remember the show like I remember Transformers and Robotech. It just makes no sense to me. It was awful. I remember seeing all of the knockoffs like BeetleBorgs and VR Rangers or whatever. It was just so terrible.
Yes! Thank you! I don't get the love for that show by anyone who wasn't like 7 or younger at the time.
I remember that I sort of liked it and that I was totally aware of how "bad" it was right there. I think you need to watch it in a particular mindset to enjoy it if you are not a kid, but it usually puts a grin in my face. I can still watch it.

Maybe it is because I liked Captain Power and the soldiers of the future, which was several years earlier (and I think actually has some quality).

Also the Japanese originals that showed before the American version were much better (as is Gatchaman), and those I tried to watch the episodes and keep up with the continuity (but I was also younger).
For the American version I just saw it once in a while, otherwise there are better uses for your time... And the knock-offs were quite terrible (some better than others, but generally quite terrible).

I find it strikingly beautiful that you mostly watch a random single episode of PR and absorb like 90% of not just that whole series, but all other Power Ranger series.

I find it strikingly odd that something like that not only was not cancelled at the first series, but is still going.

I honestly believe this is 70% of the reason Power Rangers was so successful and popular.

The music is pretty decent I think, but that guy basically composed the music to so many kid's shows that I think mostly everyone would like his style just because of that. I mean, it is pretty ridiculous, check it out:

Jem and the Holograms and Rainbow Brite. One of my moms friends had a child that was a year younger than me that loved Rainbow Brite, so I ended up having to watch it so we could watch Transformers or Robotech. Jem was because of my cousin who lived around the corner and is like a sister to me. Coincidentally my fiancee favorite cartoon from back then is Jem, to the extent that she has cosplays the main character.

Speaking of Power Rangers, have we mentioned how sexist and racist the coloring was? The white girl was the pink raner, the asian girl was the yellow ranger, the black guy was the black ranger. I'm not sure if the white ranger was in the original series, but he was always played by a white guy from what I remember.

I do believe that in the orginal show the yellow ranger was a dude.

only the pink ranger was the female.

I thnk in the US they wanted to even it out to have more girls in it, and therfore spread the fanbase

That's a premise for a four minute set.

I think most guys in their late 20's early to late 30's remember the Spice channel with nostalgic feelings. May "feelings" isn't the right word, but everyone can relate to the days where scrambled porn was on cable.

Pretty much.

The Green Ranger lost his powers and later got the new White Ranger powers.

On a more serious note, I watched this religiously as a child:
