That article wasted a lot of breath and profanity complaining about how much she hates analog controls, but precious little on why. The crux of her argument seems to be "The analog stick is a fiddly little piece of shit when it comes to aiming" and, well, that's always seemed pre-eminently obvious to me.

I pretty much agreed with the post too. It sounded a lot like me when I get wound up and rant for 10 minutes about something stupid.

I managed to power through Infamous though. Wanted to throw my controller a few times, but the game was good enough to suffer through the control. A lot of shooting people was 'do my best to aim as best as I can vertically and shuffle my body left and right for horizontal and hope for the best with the auto aim'. Of course games wouldn't need auto aim if dual analog were suited to the activity.

Gahh. I lost all my urge to finish The Witcher 2, and now feel like selling it. Also, I have no idea what I'd replace it with. Doom 64 is quite possible, and I'm still looking at 360 stuff. Viking: Battle for Asgard, Vanquish, Catherine, Portal 2, and others.... but I don't know if my retro store has any of those.

lol I don't hate dual analog that much, it just never felt intuitive to me.
