US$60 and $55? Those are good deals! Why do you say they weren't?

Well, it's probably just the situation I had with the store I bought them at that left me a bit dissatisfied, but also, the copy I bought for myself was $20 cheaper and in the same/better condition than the copy without a faded cover. I was making it a point to buy everything below the average prices for Japan since I knew I would get screwed in conversion rate and shipping everything back, which worked out for the most part, but I got a bit ahead of myself on Batsugun.

Hmmm... that's not that bad. You can always sell one for a similar amount, or trade it for something you want. At least it has kept its value fairly well! If you got it as a downloadable, you don't exactly own it. With a physical copy, it is yours in every way.

Yeah, I'm not too bent out of shape about having two copies, it just seems a bit--extravagant.
It'd be cool if I could trade it for a Turbo Duo, but going by the prices for them in Tokyo, at least, I'm not sure anyone would go for that trade. I could probably use the money back out of it instead, anyway.
I'm actually a bit surprised the price didn't come down more after the XBL release. Ikaruga too. Maybe I shouldn't worry about unloading my US copy of Suikoden II before it's digitally released.

The screen is perfect (although a few minor marks, but that's just the screen which is easily replaceable). It will replace my other GG with a slightly faded screen. I'll just have to get used to using a Genny model 2 PSU instead of a model 1 (the other GG is Japanese).

All I ever had for that system was Sonic games, and looking at it now it just makes me think of a slightly less interesting Master System, but the six-year-old in me finds it brutal that the little battery devourer that could, that got him through countless cross-country car rides, won't play his games anymore.
What kind of work would go into a screen replacement on the GG, or were you just talking about the cover over the screen or something?

I know i'm going to get heat on this but last week a found a perfect copy of duck tales 2 for the nes for 2.99. I needed the money so i sold it for 80.00. The game was so clean that i did the q tip trick and the game was spotless. I hate myself for it but i bought myself a bike so i could ride with the kids. P.S this was my rarest find.

It's cool man. I'd do that same probably.

Yeah, just the cover over the screen that gets a bit scratched. It's much easier to just find another GG than to replace the whole main screen.

Hit up a few yard sales today and found an NES zapper for $1 and a PS2 eye toy camera for $1. Better than nothing.

In preparation for my Everdrive 64, I hit up Craigslist and picked up an additional 3 genuine N64 controllers + rumble pack for $35. Stop by a couple thrifts store and found two working GBC's and Mortal Kombat for $10, and two DC games for $7.

niiiiiiiiiice! What games did you get? I picked up a Coleco for my wife last Summer at yard sale. Was $10 but it was boxed and mint with 2 controllers and 2 games.

keep an eye out for some cool accessories like the 2600 adapter.

dont forget to check on-line to tell you what each button on the number pad does. Some games use more buttons than others.

At gamestop today I got

Samurai Shodown Anthology and Metroid Prime 3 corruption for wii.

Cost me $20.44 for both of them.

I wish I could find the PS2 version of SSA. I think that one is more rare. I also have it for the PSP but PS2 has better controls and comfort.

I went to the thrift store today. It's my favorite one because the clerks like me so much that they let me walk behind the counter to look at stuff

Anyway, I'd made my way around the store already and back up to the front counter, almost ready to leave, when I noticed this pretty little box beside the window.

I ask Mrs. June, the very nice person who runs the store, if I can look at it. She hands it to me with a smile and goes, "You'll like this."

I did.




I liked it even more when I took everything out to see what was inside.

*ears perk up* "More?" I assumed it was already gone. Le sigh.

Mrs. June turned to another clerk. "Where's the other stuff that I had out here?"

Melissa, the nice other clerk: "We took it back to the back. There wasn't enough room up here."

Mrs. June: "Well, go get it.....Wait." She turned to me. "Why don't you just go with her. There's some other nice stuff back there too. We just got it in today."

So I go back with Melissa to the stock room and feast my eyes on three cases of treasures.

And indeed there was a lot of nice stuff.

So, apparently it can play Master System games.

That would explain those extra minty cases in that zipped compartment.




All the Master System games are complete with the exception of Zillion. It's a damn shame.

And of course the bottom compartment revealed this:



No sound, unfortunately. But with the amount of love it looks to have gotten, I really wasn't expecting it too.

Finally, the last box contained a slightly yellowed NES and about 20 games. I passed on that particular bundle since I already had most of the games inside and the one's I didn't have I wasn't interested in. I did however, ask if I could buy two of the games separately, which I was allowed to do.

The first one I picked up was this



I don't see many NES games complete in the wild, so I couldn't pass this one up. It's a little dinged, but overall in very good shape.

What I really wanted though, was this.





Can someone with more experience than I with sealed games tell me if this is legit or not? Based on ye Racketboy article it looks pretty good to me, but I'm sure someone out there will be able to tell me for sure if this is the real deal or not.

And finally I also picked up a copy of Final Fantasy V Advance and Final Fantasy VI Advance for $10 a piece. It's a bit more than I wanted to spend on them at a thrift store, but the carts are legit and in excellent shape. So for the sake of having all of the GBA Final Fantasy games, I figured what the hell.

Grand total for everything: $121.37

My wad be spent for the next month......or so

I think it was totally worth it though

I think the next time I go in the store I'm going to give Mrs. June a big hug. I don't care how strange it looks. Imma do it anyway.
