Cheap Saturn memory card on Amazon!

Post by 11dfrazier »

Was cruising around online this morning and stumbled across this guy. Dunno if it's a good quality cart or not, but for 5.98 after shipping for a NIB memory card I couldn't pass it up.

well from the picture that sure isnt the official memory card im curious to find out if it lets you save directly from your game to it or if its like the action replay one where you have to manually copy your data over. anyway its cheap enough for you to try it not much to lose haha

I know it's not the official Sega one, but I needed one haha. I keep losing bidding wars on eBay for the official ones, and I don't wanna pay the outrageous BIN prices.

I'll definitely update this thread when I receive it. The few things I have read online about it says they do work for direct saving.

well i think the only card you need is the action replay 4 in 1 sure its inconvenient to manually move your saves but the ability to play import games makes it a must have

Ugh, Innovation. If you're going to grab one, let us know how it is.

I actually already have a region switch installed in my Saturn, and both the 1MB and 4 MB carts, so I don't need an Action Replay.

I received the cart today and it's fantastic. Direct save enabled, and I think I found a hidden feature...It plays imports too! I had my region switch set to USA mode, and threw in my copy of Vampire Hunter and it booted up just fine. Didn't think anything about it until I saw what mode it was in. So I took the cart out, and sure enough it wouldn't boot.

So anyone looking for a cheap memory cart with direct save functions, and the ability to play import games that don't need a RAM cart on a non modded system this is the cart for you!

Do be careful. If it has expanded capacity due to data compression it might lose your saves periodically. Also, make sure to keep an eye on your cartridge slot. 3rd party cartridges have been historically held to wreak havoc with the slot over time.

thats pretty neat but unfortunately most of my favorite saturn imports require the extra ram like the king of fighters, metal slug, xmen vs street fighter, ect. so the action replay 4 in 1 is still the best option for me aside from region modding. i really wish they would come out with a new action replay that supported direct saves.
