Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Can I assume you bought most things in Akihabara or somewhere similar?

I bought a good portion of it in Akihabara, yes. Some of the best deals I actually got on Amazon JP, though.
The one thing I'll probably regret not being able to get is the Sega Saturn Virtua Stick Pro that I saw in Ikebukuro for about $200. Maybe one day....

I love that game, and that is an awesome marquee in great condition!
That said, TMNT was a HUGE franchise when this game was released. You would think that the people designing the marquee could have come up with some more "professional" looking artwork for it. Don't get me wrong, I find the "this marquee looks like it was drawn and photoshopped by a ten-year-old" look very endearing - especially since I was close to that age at the time of the games release - but I would expect something that looked a little more official, such as stills from the comic or cartoon.
EDIT: Looking at it now...I really can't stop laughing at it. The proportions are all wrong, see, e.g., Michaelangelo's wildly mismatched legs, and the perspective is terrible, compare perspective of building in foreground with perspective of building in background. Moreover, why is the Shredder walking like that? And what exactly does Raphael hope to accomplish by clinging to the light post? I won't even get started on April...Basicly, this marquee is like the arcade equivalent of the Mega Man 1 box art, and I love it for that reason. In any event, this is a GREAT, GREAT find, and I am incredibly jealous. I would love to have one of these machines in my house someday.

I want to do a podcast where I interview the woman playing April on the marquee and discuss the shoot for that photo for five hours straight.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I love that game, and that is an awesome marquee in great condition!

I think we could spend an hour discussing the perm alone.prfsnl_gmr wrote:dsheinem wrote:I want to do a podcast where I interview the woman playing April on the marquee and discuss the shoot for that photo for five hours straight.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I love that game, and that is an awesome marquee in great condition!

I would love to hear about the photo session ("OK. For this shot, you are going to wear a yellow jumpsuit and pose...like...this...with a camcoder in your hand. Oh, and try to make a face like a child pretending to be surprised." <click> "Perfect.") and what she thinks of the pictures now. Also, I want to know where she got her perm.
If anyone can track down who it is, I will seriously look her up.
