This 2012 HP Envy is the newest laptop im considering of purchasing. As you can tell it looks like a MacBook Pro, reason is its a direct competitor to the MB Pro.
Interesting features
-Cover is made of glass.
-Touchpad & Armpad also made of glass.
Im choosing this because i prefer windows over mac os. Also im looking for the smallest size one because they are just so so cute!
I have a pretty standard laptop: Dell Inspiron. I use it for everyday things, schoolwork, some emulation/DOS gaming, etc. I use my homemade gaming desktop for current-gen PC gaming and other more "intense" stuff.
My dream laptop would be one from the Asus Republic of Gamers series. I love the look & feel of those. I play around on one whenever I shop at Best Buy.
Yea i just google Asus Republic of Gamers series an it looks like a powerful piece of machine. Yea i guess if you were gonna go for gamings machine that would be a great choice.
Im just not much of a PC gamer at all or else i would def consider it.
It's pretty standard issue, but suits me well enough for all my video editing needs. The monitor is 17.5" which certainly is a bonus. I don't really know how well it'd handle games, PC gaming is pretty foreign to me.
It's a great deal and one of the better laptops you can get for under $1000. I bought mine for just $880. It can handle most any game on high settings, but its max resolution is 1366x768, which is the bottleneck for the graphics. Things still look quite good though, and the keyboard keys have a great feel that is perfect for gaming.

I like the fact that I get 4-6 hours of battery life and can double it by getting a sheet battery. It has 1920x1080 graphics, nice backlit keyboard, 15.5" screen. Down the road, I will swap out the HDD for an SSD once prices come down more.
I use a 5-year old MacBook for pretty much everything these days. It originally had a 160 GB hard drive and 2 GB of RAM but I've since upgraded it to 500 GB and 3 GB respectively. It is getting a bit long in the tooth though and I'm actually looking to get a PC laptop as I'm getting tired of Apple's crappy power supplies. However, I'm thinking of turning whatever laptop I get into a Hackintosh, as I never could get used to Windows 7 and XP is too vulnerable to use these days IMO.

Dell Vostro 1000 - (soon to be) primary portable windows gaming/field work pc
I would love to upgrade to something that can run Witcher 1 and l4d2 decently, but honestly I do not want to pay over $400 for a laptop. Something like a Lenovo B570 with the geforce 410m and a better battery would be perfect for me.
