Its an HKT-3020 manufactured on December 2000. I thought it was only the 3030s that need to be modded to play homebrew

I guess the only thing I could suggest is finding another older dreamcast just in case?

Have you tried simply finding a different image/release for Half-Life?

What's the number in the circle next to NTSC-U on the bottom (assuming it is a US model)? What region is it?

Some later consoles do NOT read burnt discs. I had one from late 2000 that didn't, although it was NTSC-J.

It burned fine but when i tried it out it (same as Alcohol 120% and imgburn with and without the files AppleQueso linked to) came up as a music disc stuck on track 2 4:16.
This is really weird :?
What game are you trying to burn?

Try setting the block to 2336

That's what I was suspecting. Not all "2"s in Japan can read CDRs, and apparently not all the ones that are NTSC-U do either. Looks like this just might be a case of you having one of those that really can't read them.[/quote]

Just do a search for console icon gifs.

Ugh yea i think youre right. I have heard in some places though that all DCs should be able to play burnt discs and that the laser on ones that cant just needs to be recalibrated.
