I thought it might be nice to have some organised events, kill the people who "flamed" you on the forum :P . Anyway join up if you want, I'll make reputable people that I recognise from the site Admins. Should be fun!

I'm flattered. But I could probably find you a better image than that one

Of course, I'm doing it right now. Will you be joining us? Or leading as the case may be :P

I don't typically do PC gaming -- my machine isn't quite up to snuff. What game(s) do you play most?

Sven Co-op was pretty good. It's got its issues, though. Personally, I'd be cool with some classic HL deathmatch, or even better...TFC.

Also, if any of you guys picked up HL2, there's a few interesting mods out for it right now.

Oh yeah...you guys wouldn't be willing to set up a Team Speak server in the future for this, would you? While I don't currently have a headset with a mic, I've been meaning to get one for a few months now, and it would be a good incentive. Plus, multiplayer co-op is always better when you can actually talk to folks.

Although I do own HL2 and all the respective flashy graphics stuff Valve has released (ok no DoD, but that's no biggie) but since we tend to enjoy the retro games I vote that we have Counter Strike 1.6 or TFC tournaments. If you guys do happen to have HL2 I would suggest a game of Goldeneye: Source, that way we can keep it older than 5 years.

Well, most of us play Half-Life 2 and Team-Fortress 2, at least HL2 would probably scale down to your computer, it is near photorealistic at times on high-end systems, and still look nice on low-end systems. But, a older suggestion would be Half-Life 1 and the various mods it has, considering it was made in '99 or so, I have little doubt it'd work on your computer.

Get the Half-Life 1 Anthology pack, that'll get you TFC, HL1, Blue Shift, and Opposing Force. Not to mention some awesome mods, such as Natural Selection and The Specialists, for $15. And, while you're at it, you should pick up Uplink and The Wonderful End of The World for $10 each, both WILL work on whatever computer you may have if CSS even starts up, and are awesome games. Though, I wouldn't be opposed to a Trackmania tourney (assuming I actually learn how to not suck at it), it's free and runs on near any system, so it'd be a good candidate.

No can do I've only got an iMac...and no windows installed.

That shouldn't be that big of a problem, you can set up Crossover which oddly enough runs many GoldSrc and Source games perfectly (although, there is one bug some systems have: Steam may take up to 5 or so minutes to launch, but after that it's perfect, and I'm pretty sure iMacs don't get the bug). If you pirate Crossover (which I for one have no moral objections to, since the majority of the code is ripped right from a Linux program called WINE that's free), it'll cost $15 to get HL1 and its expansion packs, and TFC, and $30 to get The Orange Box (GREAT deal, 5 games all of which rock for less than the average new release, and a fuckton of mods).

Don't GoldSrc and Source games have voice support built in? If not, then I believe there's also a way to set up group chat which would also work, regardless of what game we may play.
A co-op playthrough would be nice, since I actually have only gotten about half way, and it's right at that age where I just can't get far in the game alone; I'd get bored quick.

Yeah, a few did, but I've always had issues with them. Hence why I've always just stuck to Teamspeak. And Half-Life was officially released...November 19, 1998. Wow, didn't realize we were that close to it's ten year anniversary.

If any of you guys like TFC and want an update for HL2, Fortress Forever was pretty good, though a bit rushed at its initial release. They've patched it a bit, but I haven't played it in a while... And Team Fortress 2 is drastically different from TFC in a lot of ways, especially with my favorite class. I also had a lot of fun with Zombie Master when it was initially released. It had some poor maps, though, a lot of folks would release beta maps into normal rotation, so there was often at least five versions of the same map. It makes for some fun co-op though.

Any word on Black Mesa: Source, by the way? For those not in the know, it was an update of Half-Life on the Half-Life 2 engine.

Their blog is updated more often than the front page. Check that for news.

my pc is awesome, the only thing it doesnt want to run is Crysis on highest settings in dx10 at full resolution so that shouldnt be a problem. i also and went ahead and got half life 2 + deathmatch + lost coast and half life source + deathmatch source. Unfortunately, ive only got 32bit vista to go along w/ my 6gb of RAM but for all you looking to build up your pc to a decent level, the BFG Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT OC DX10 512mb is marvelous. If you wanna know more about my pc, pm me.
