Any other Yu-Gi-Oh! players?
Re: Any other Yu-Gi-Oh! players?
Alright guys, I just bought a box of Battle Pack: Epic Dawn because for some reason I've been on a Yu-Gi-Oh! high these past few weeks. It's nice because this set is designed to make decks out of for sealed pack play. Basically you are handed some packs and have to make a deck to duel with. So there's alot of useful cards in here.
I will probably never use them ever (unless I go find some local tourneys) but the smell of fresh plastic was simply amazing, I think even better than a new video game smell.
Pick a couple packs up sometime, if only for the nostalgia factor. Only $2 a piece so it's just street change really. And I'll stop before I sound even more like an advertisement.

What did you guys think of the anime show? I've only seen an episode or two, but it seemed kinda lame.

-Original
-GX
-5D's
-Zexal
I loved the original and GX, but never watched 5D's. I don't plan on watching Zexal either. 5D's doesn't seem so bad to me, I like the premise, but Zexal's main character and just general timeline aren't sitting right in my mind. Maybe it's because it's too far away from the original timeline to be similar, or it's the different duel disks.

I was talking about Zexal. I thought it was the only one, apparently I'm very wrong.Pichu wrote:Which one:BoringSupreez wrote:I never got into Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, but I did do Pokemon cards. Oh jeez...and here I am going off like I actually follow the series haha.BoringSupreez wrote: I was talking about Zexal. I thought it was the only one, apparently I'm very wrong.
Yeah the original was the least supernatural and was somewhat believable while still remaining awesome. GX, 5D's and Zexal all end up way too ridiculous at one point or another, and in Zexal's case right away.

saw these at the wal-mart. I am tempted. But are the classic type cards? I am not a big fan of synchro/xyz stuff.Pichu wrote:Alright guys, I just bought a box of Battle Pack: Epic Dawn because for some reason I've been on a Yu-Gi-Oh! high these past few weeks. I also got a full tin at the salvation army a few days ago for $2.50

There are some Sycnchro's and Xyz's in there. But there are alot of cards you'll recognize. Jinzo, Obelisk the Tormentor, Cyber Dragon, Dark Magician of Chaos, Mirror Force, Witch of the Black Forest, Mystical Space Typhoon, Interdimensional Matter Transporter are just a few examples.flojocabron wrote:saw these at the wal-mart. Re: Any other Yu-Gi-Oh! players?
I still have my own constructed deck. I pretty much base my strategy entirely around cheap tricks and effect exploits, with a focus on equip cards. When I play Yu-Gi-Oh!, I fight dirty! My main problem is that it really needs some more monsters to balance things out, but I plan to fix that soon. Here is my deck (It's warrior-themed, by the way):
Monsters:
Dark Blade x3
Maju Garzett
Command Knight
Chiron the Mage
Elemental Hero Bladedge
Elemental Hero Clayman
Mystic Swordsman LV.4
D.D Survivor
D.D Assailant
Sea Serpent Warrior of Darkness
Armed Samurai Ben Kei
Mataza the Zapper x2
Slate Warrior x2
Blindly Loyal Goblin
Cat's Ear Tribe
Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke x3
Zolga
Obnoxious Celtic Guardian
Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight
The Hunter With 7 Weapons
Pitch-Dark Dragon
Magic:
The Warrior Returning Alive
Shield Crush
Mystical Space Typhoon x2
Wicked-Breaking Flamberge Baou
Riryoku
Reinforcement of the Army x2
Double Attack x2
Soul Exchange
Wave-Motion Cannon
Rush Recklessly x4
Malevolent Nuzzler
Change of Heart x3
Horn of the Unicorn
Monster Reborn
Lightning Blade x2
Shield & Sword
Ground Collapse x2
Gift of the Martyr
Axe of Despair
Swords of Revealing Light x2
Lucky Iron Axe
Amulet of Ambition
Lightning Vortex
Trap:
Magic Cylinder x2
Sakuretsu Armor
Ordeal of a Traveler
Enchanted Javelin
Draining Shield
Staunch Defender
Wall of Revealing Light
Covering Fire
Blast Held by a Tribute

To the two posts above me, I would've definitely dueled both of you.

Re: Any other Yu-Gi-Oh! players?
I got 4 decks at the moment (all were really cheap to build). The one I use most is my chain burn deck. This is the deck I use in official tournaments.
[3] Swift Scarecrow
[1] Card Car D (randomly got it from a pack)
[4]
[3] One Day of Peace
[1] Scapegoat
[3] Thunder Short
[3] Poison of the Old Man
[2] Chain Strike
[12]
[2] Ojama Trio
[3] Accumulated Fortune
[3] Reckless Greed
[3] Legacy of Yata-Garasu
[3] Jar of Greed
[3] Secret Barrel
[3] Just Desserts
[1] Ceasefire
[3] Threatening Roar
[24]
It's all about doing chains and drawing, that's why cards like Gravity Bind and Level Limit Area - B are never used in a chain burn deck. I also don't use Magic Cylinder or Dimension Wall as these days, they just get destroyed before I can use them. Against cards like Royal Decree, I use swap in cards like Mystical Space Typhoon and Fairy Wind.
