She was the main player in the whole Thanos Quest, Infinity Gauntlet, and War. She was the silent instigator.
My take on:
Thanos Quest
Infinity Gauntlet
Infinity War

Is it? Not all Vertigo books are connected to the DC universe. I'm actually just starting to read Sandman myself.
Yeah, it's got some pretty clear connections.

Yeah, sandman is a great comic.

you cant go wrong with the tpb's or single comics.

once your done with sandman, read the books of magic. theres a mini-series and a regular series.

books of magic have the same feel as sandman and explores the same mythos.

Sandman (so far) is one of my favorite comics ever. I say so far because I'm only like 2/3 through the whole run, but I doubt anything will change my mind about it at this point.

Lucifer's what I plan to read after I'm done with all the Sandman trades. I'd already bought like half of them before realizing about the absolute editions. Now i'm tempted to just buy those instead, even if they're pricey.

"I still wonder now, if Warlock could become one with the Infinity Gems why didn’t he just do that at the beginning as soon as he was revived?"

Foresight. For one, Adam is one with only the Soul Gem, not all the gems.

Thanos' thing is gaining ultimate power, but once obtained, he realizes he never wanted it in the first place. Every loss he's had has been at his own doing.

Warlock knew Thanos would surrender the gauntlet at some point, and although this kind of contradicts the Surfer's attempt at snatching the glove, it does make sense that Warlock would wait for a lesser adversary to gain the gems.

I believe in the end Adam knew he could not overpower Thanos, and would rather wait until Thanos lost the gauntlet to retrieve it.

There is a great "What If Silver Surfer obtained the Infinity Gauntlet" out there if you haven't read it.

So no real overarching stories, just action and comedy? That works.

Why not start with Deadpool's first appearance? Seems like a good spot to me. That would be New Mutants #98.
