This thing has been selling like hot cakes, so if you plan on getting one anytime soon, get it. Whilst you can.
Typically, the Everdrive 64 will cost about $175. But after some browsing around, I found that I was able to purchase the board by itself (no plastic shell) with the usb port pre installed for only $114, plus shipping. I had to solder out a CIC chip (region protection mechanism) from one of my actual N64 games and put it into the Everdrive, so I used one from a cheap wrestling game. Not terribly difficult, but having soldering experience did help. You can have it pre-installed.
I also used the shell from that same wrestling game, so I had to chop away parts of the plastic to be able to get to the SD card and usb port. And because of that, my Everdrive looks like it came out of a wet dumpster.
But damn, does it work. I was able to put in my 8 gig SD Card, which now has every single North American game, and some of the Japanese exclusives. So far, everything I've tried has worked perfectly.
Here are some pictures of the cartridge. Tape is used to cover up the horribly mangled holes I made for the two ports. Keeps out the dust. My house is dusty.

I had to clip away parts of the metal casing in order to make room for ports, and to not squish resistors.

SD Card "slot". More like a gaping hole.

I may get some plastic melting tools sometime, make a decent cartidge shell and airbrush it purple. Or something. But for now, I am enjoying the fact that I have a working Everdrive 64.
I'll post a recording of me testing games sometime tonight.
