hi all , has anyone used eStarland's CD Resurfacing Service before ?

I want to send in a rare Music CD i have that has a tiny scratch on it , it affects only Track 2 going for 1 second.

I dont want to send the Music CD in if it will get worse or be destroyed as its quite rare and highly sought after.

how much will it cost you to send it in? There are multiple copies on eBay for under $9. (Are you sure it's as rare as you think it is?)

i would send it securely Registered and Insured , probably cost $30-35 US

They are 2003 version re-done with the new members which i also have , the other one goes for $100+ US when on eBay. It hardly goes up on eBay though as the band maybe made 5000 - 10,000 units and no one wants to part with it.

ive googled for about 25 mins with no success , one place i knew of that did do it doesnt do it anymore they said on their Website that there are many Professional places doing it now.

funny thing is i cant find any locally ( Australia )

I dont have any handy , although i did try the Toothpaste trick and that didnt fix it.



the scratch is tiny and not deep so a light Resurface i think will fix it..........

Go get some plastic polish and try that. But I agree with Hobie there has to be one used DVD or rental place with a machine or a place they send them out to. Make some phone calls.

I actually live near eStarland. You can physically go to their warehouse if you like. Its pretty cool. I haven't ever used their service though, because its very expensive compared to other places in the DC area. $3 a disc is ridiculous. All the other places around here charge $1 per disc. I can attest to their other services though. They are a great place to buy games from, so I would say if do choose to send your CD to them it will be well taken care of.

Having said that there must be another place locally that will do it. Check record shops, pawn shops, flea markets. Any place that is likely to deal in a lot of used optical media, probably invested in a machine for themselves, and most likely offers this as a service too.

I can attest to the fact that the Zao CD in question is indeed rare and expensive.

You could check out local mom and pop stores near you, but they all vary wildly in quality of course. There's two places that do resurfacing near me and I'll visit only one, the other place is pretty shoddy with their work (always leaving swirl marks, residue, etc).

I've never gotten CDs resurfaced at estarland, but I shop there more than any other online retailer. They are extremely prompt and professional, I wouldn't hesitate to send something to them.
