You should worry about anyone keeping tabs on you that isn't you. Let's say you can without a doubt, say that Google won't use your information against you. Once they start collecting that information it's possibly available to someone that will use it to negatively affect you. That's your private information and you have to make sure that they protect you from hackers getting it? How about they just don't have that information to begin with.

That's my point, something you see as innocuous, may not be. Take the thing in NYC with Mayor Bloomberg and his ban on sugary drinks and selling them in sizes over 16oz. What if Google hands over browsing information related to things you want to eat and they decide that they shouldn't advertise about the new type of Pepsi soda, beacuse you're a fat bastard and shouldn't be drinking any more soda? It's a privacy thing, who the hell are you to tell me I can't have 2 gallons of soda if I want to?

With an IP address I can tell if someone goes to my site and then goes to pornhub for example. I keep saying it, you have to take great strides and have a know how to have a drop of anonymity online.

Same here. I always sign out of Youtube or Gmail when doing searches on google.com. Hell, it's the only way to get a clean search. Otherwise all I get are prioritized video game results and other nonsense that have nothing to do with what I was actually looking for.

It's a matter of how much you are willing to do to protect your privacy. Most people just dont care about it, that doesn't mean that it isn't possible to surf relatively safely if you don't mind using fake emails, proxies, only post in forums that allow anonymous posting, dont use any social networking sites etc.
