Hi everyone,
I just got a gba sp ags-101 with zelda, metroid and final fight. Now i want to pick up alot of games for this but i already dished out a total of 70.00 for everything. My problem is with me trying to keep a tight budget and most of the 70.00 was credit, I could of use that money towards ps1,dreamcat, or wii games. I just want to know a) how do you guys choose to spend money on games for a certain system and b) what should i save my money on? Building the gameboy collection? Finish my ps1 collection? I still have dreamcat games i want like power stone 1 and 2, street fighter 3, project justice, or do i start buying games for wii before the games will be hard? Plese give me some feedback. thanks
need help in collecting. which do i spend my money on

Do what you want, but don't go overboard.

You've posted these types of questions before. We ask what you like, try to answer. Rinse, repeat.
You need to figure this out for yourself. IMHO collecting just to point and say "lookit all my shiz!" is no good. If you aren't collecting because of an interest, it is pointless. If you enjoy a certain console, or type of game, then go for that. As I've said before, if you're always asking other people what to collect, it isn't your collection.

Just buy the games that pique your interest. You don't really need a goal.

If money is tight, you might be best served by just playing what you have for a while.

-Impulse is your biggest enemy when it comes to collecting, try to resist dropping cash on a rare game at a hefty price due to fear of never seeing it again.
There will always be people buying and selling everything and anything, its a cycle in life.Give yourself time to research prices and availability, that will help you spend wiser in the longrun.
-If you happen to catch yourself impulse buying and things start stacking up,simply make a trade list to get back some of that lost money. However if you paid top dollar dont expect to break even either.
-What games to collect?
Yes Racketboy is informative, but dont let us tell you what to get!
Dabble in some different retro games that normally you wouldnt play and those that appeal to you.
Make a list of each system you have /want and every game that appeals to you per system.Narrow that list down drasticlly to the best games in your opinion, divide that by 2.25 and that will be the amount of games you'll actually play.

Hobie-wan your right. I do this all the time. buy a system, collect a ton of games get sick of looking at it and then sell it. A year or two goes by and im doing this all over again. I think I'm going to try my hardest to break my habit. I believe I'm a video game hoarder. That's step 1. Now I need to find out what systems that I enjoy the most and get rid of everything else. 3. Just buy i game a month for each system that I keep and that HAS to be two and that's all. The ps3 and wii are my kids. My 360 I already have that sold, Im giving my ps2 away, so now it gba, psone w/screen and dreamcast. I need to give this alot of thought. But I need to stop hoarding and break my habit. Thank you hobie-wanHobie-wan wrote:You've posted these types of questions before. We ask what you like, try to answer. Rinse, repeat.

I usually buy with the intention of keeping it forever, so whenever i do buy i choose very carefully and take the one that have long life shelve aka replayability.
My collection is tiny compare to some of you guys, but the games i have are quality in my eyes and will keep happy for a long time.

Good luck. I promise I'm not trying to be mean. Just several times you've popped up with these threads. If you have things you enjoy, by all means keep those. Perhaps Gameflys or one of those rental places might help control things. Rent a game, play it, send it back for another. Also maybe think about diverting money into a savings account that you don't touch, that way you don't have it immediately available for splurges.

ive decided to really only collect saturn and dreamcast games, i find it such a hastle to have too many systems expecially the cartridge ones take up so much space and they are so easy to emulate on my wii.
