But the OST is crap (especially when compared to the old series), it feels more childish when the original series kind of felt like seinen/shounen, and there's stuff cut from the original series that I really enjoyed. But from what I hear, I guess the 2011 series is more faithful to the manga and a lot of the stuff in the original that is now gone was filler. It was really good filler though. What I'm really waiting for is the Spiders arc and beyond, I haven't seen anything past that and haven't read any of the manga.

Zetman... it's okay but it's a really bad adaption. I don't like what they did with Kouga and Jin's relationship at all. I'd say it gets a little better with each new episode, but yeah, manga is infinitely better. Guess you can't expect much out of a 13 episode adaption of a 17 volume on-going manga. I have a pretty good feeling of where they're going to end it though, should be interesting to see what they do there.

In many ways, it kind of reminds me of the Gantz and Hellsing (2001) adaptations. They're all enjoyable on some level, have good action, stick to the story pretty closely, but overall deviate far too much from the source material and suffer for it.

Yeah, I just caught up with the Zetman manga and don't see how they could really do a fair adaptation of it with as few episodes as they had. I started making the Gantz comparison too. Does it at least have an amazing opening theme like Gantz did?

I basically agree with bruno on the new HxH. It's good fun but not up to par with the original series at all. The OST alone seriously brings it down a notch or two for me.

What do you guys think of the announcement that toonami is returning on may 26th.

If this is true it could be very cool, but i have a horrible feeling that its going to be a big and rather mean spirited joke.

They'll start like they did on april fools and then stick it to the Toonami fans as they have for so long.

Maybe im just paranoid, but really with the way Cartoon Network has acted toward anime fans for the last 5 or 6 years can you blame me?

it is true, also Adult swim is not the same company as Cartoon Network, they just share the channel. Here is the official link on Adult swim that says ever saturday after the 26th

http://www.adultswim.com/shows/toonami/
also adult swim bump about Toonami coming back.

"TOONAMI - Beginning Saturday, May 26, Adult Swim brings back Toonami, the network's popular block of anime programming. Airing weekly from midnight to 6 a.m. (ET/PT), in addition to the return of previous series featured in Toonami, Adult Swim is also developing new original anime programming for fans."

As some of you may have noticed, I'm no anime fan. However, as I was browsing IMDB I noticed something called "Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt." It's anime, but it had a very distinct, non-anime art style to it. I clicked in, and what I saw piqued my interest. IMDB has the first two episodes up for watching (in English) so I figured hey, I'll watch a few minutes to see what it's like.

HOLY CRAP.

Pure awesome. Why isn't all anime like this? This is surely the best television to come out of Japan. It parodies other animes, while being funny on it's own merits as well. It's sort of like a crude, adult version of PPG. It hardly feels Japanese at all. A quick search on Amazon reveals it's coming to DVD next month. I'm sold.

Panty and Stocking is awesome. However, I definitely wouldn't say a show in which angel babes fight spirits and demons with their underwear "hardly feels Japanese at all".
