I've always liked the Batman from Justice League stories the most. Specifically the line where he is apprehensive to join at first and ends up being the great balance and reason to the super powered heroes and tried to keep them from getting god like egos. That cynical Batman who keeps krypotonite around yet is a great leader and saves the world with equal strategy and power.
We also need the slightly more arrogant, boy scout Superman.

Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
So many incarnations of the Justice League, hope they incorporate a little bit of everything, from 60's weirdness like Starro, an 80's SuperFriends vibe, and the modern Morrison/Dini/Timm influence. Maybe a few sequel's will yield a big screen Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.
Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
Excuse me for saying this, but well, duh. After DC saw the Disney money the Avengers raked in, this was totally inevitable.
The bad thing is that they're scrambling, and I have a feeling this movie is going to be rushed. Rushed big time.

Did you guys follow this project the last time? When they were about to start shooting it and had the whole thing cast? Because it sounded terrible then and I cant imagine it will turn out better now. For one, theyre in a hurry, so the approach that marvel took, making a movie about each character first, isnt going to happen. The other problem is that theyve done a crappy job with most their heroes. Superman returns was a dissapointment. Green lantern sucked. Wonder woman has been in development hell for an eternity. . .
Batman has been their lone success, and that version of batman cant and wont work with a teamup movie. So their only potential character with an existing movie for their universe, will be superman, and that movie could end up sucking too. Plus, how well will that version mesh with other characters? Marvel kept things light, I get the feeling superman wont. Thats a major issue in doing a teamup, if you try to take it too seriously it doesnt work.

JLA is going to be tricky to pull off regardless, and the way production is doing this now makes it even more difficult. Kids and Teenagers are going to point out "That ain't Batman". Wonder Woman has taken like what, five years so far to film to not even see any distribution.
I really wish DC wouldn't be so quick to bite and would take the time to establish their "new" characters. They should definitely establish the Trinity at least, but I don't see that happening unless JLA arrives around 2020.
Could Marvel's Avengers made the same amount of dough without the previous movies? Good question me, allow me to answer. Maybe close, but there were definitely kids who specifically wanted to see their favorite character. Kids who want to see Batman won't be getting the Batman they are expecting.
Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
Don't they still need to make a wonder woman movie or something before this happens. Man, I hate Wonder Woman. She's even lamer than Black Widow.

Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
Well, there were the first 2 Superman movies and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which were good in addition to the Batman movies. And Constantine wasn't bad. So WB can make a good DC Comics movie when they want to. And I'd imagine that they'd put they're best talent and a big budget behind a Justice League movie if they REALLY wanted to compete against The Avengers. Because of The Avengers success, I really think they're gonna give it a much more serious try this go around.Jrecee wrote:Did you guys follow this project the last time? As for who I want to see in the Justice League movie, I want it to be the core JLA members, at least for the first movie and then if it gets a sequel then add new members. Core members, IMO, being:
-Batman
-Superman
-Wonder Woman
-Green Lantern - Hal Jordan
-The Flash - Barry Allen
-Aquaman
-Martian Manhunter
For the villain, I'd LOVE to see Darkseid show up. But I think the whole backstory of the New Gods & Apokolips would just be too much for the casual movie-goer to enjoy. So instead seeing the Secret Society of Super-Villains led by Lex Luthor would be fantastic.

Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
If DC pulled off the movie in the way they've managed to make their new cartoon Young Justice feel, then I might be interested. That series really put a fresh face to the universe, does a good job of introducing a lot of more obscure comic characters to people as well.
Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
I think it's funny that the last Superman movie was so sooooo bad that they have to reboot it. Anyone remember Hulk from 2003? Lol.
Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
Thanos, cough cough, Darkseid (I'm kidding you know) would make more sense. There needs to be some apocalyptic threat to bring all these heroes together. We're talking aliens, martians, amazons, sea people, a gymnast, etc. There has to be some reason for the team to form. Marvel did that ground work a long, long time ago.BurningDoom wrote: For the villain, I'd LOVE to see Darkseid show up. I do think Lex Luthor will be the first villain however
