Woo hoo! Can't wait for this one!Warner Bros. is making some plans towards the long-awaited Justice League feature film as Variety reports that Gangster Squad screenwriter Will Beall has been brought aboard to provide the screenplay.
Details at this point are currently few, but the enormous success of Marvel's The Avengers no doubt helped pave the way for getting the Distinguished Competition's superhero ensemble a shot at the silver screen.
What remains to be seen is whether or not Warner's film will use any of their standalone superhero projects as jumping off points, building a cohesive cinematic universe the way that Marvel has. It's been hinted that Christopher Nolan's upcoming The Dark Knight Rises will feature a definitive ending for the current version of the big screen Batman character, though Christian Bale has recently suggested that he's not entirely against the notion of further adventures in the cape and cowl.
Next summer's Man of Steel, however, marks a more likely contender to launch an ongoing big screen universe and it's entirely possible that, despite a disappointing box office, last summer's take on Green Lantern couldn't be brought back.
The other possibility is that Warner Bros. might start from scratch, as was the plan several years ago when George Miller was attached to direct a motion-capture Justice League feature.
Whatever the case may be, check back for details as soon they become available and, in the meantime, take a look at our list of 11 Characters We Want to See in a Justice League Movie.

Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
If done right, that'll be the greatest comic book movie of all time. I like Marvel and all but seriously, Justice League > The Avengers by a rather large margin
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, holy crap that'd be an amazing movie! You could even have small cameos by other DC characters
Imagine if they had to fight Darkseid!
I hope they do take Marvel's approach. Make some good movies for each hero first. Wonder Woman hasn't really been done right, Batman will be in line for a nice reboot after this year, no one's ever done a great Flash movie, and Superman - despite how excellent Superman Returns was - hasn't really caught on in cinema since the Christopher Reeves days

If they were smart enough to get someone like Paul Dini to write, it actually COULD turn out pretty nice.
Knowing the way Warner Bros. seems to operate though, I imagine the movie will be a mess with way too much executive interference.

DC comics sucks so hard compared to Marvel. Batman is the only good one, I won't bother with this movie.

all the Vertigo stuff
Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
I'm all for this!
I really hope they try and go back and connect the universe and even more so have a much better Batman for it. This current Batman has no business being in the Justice League.
yes Darkseid...that would be amazing.Gamerforlife wrote:Imagine if they had to fight Darkseid!

Shoving the Nolan batman into the larger DC universe would be the most ridiculous thing ever.KDub wrote:This current Batman has no business being in the Justice League.
Re: Warner Bros. Makes Justice League Plans
Exactly, it wouldn't work aesthetically and this just simply isn't the Batman that balances out the Justice League.

Paul Dini, Bruce Timm and Joss Whedon would be a dream team. I believe Bruce Timm is a fan of Whedon. Joss just hit a home run with Avengers, proving he can do this sort of thing. Bruce Timm is "the guy" when it comes to DC animated projects. He knows the DC universe like the back of his hand. And given Paul Dini's work on Batman Arkham City, he can still write a good storyAppleQueso wrote:If they were smart enough to get someone like Paul Dini to write, it actually COULD turn out pretty nice.

Yeah, Batman is always presented differently in Justice League stories. He always seems far more dangerous and capable than he is in his own, individual stories. He comes across less as a mortal man pushed to his limits and closer to a guy who is borderline super human in his physical and mental abilities. There's usually much greater emphasis on his strategic and planning abilities as well, putting him in a leadership role rather than the loner vigilante. For a Justice League movie, we need a much more iconic, larger than life Batman, and one who is not as obsessed with Gotham and has his eyes on more global issuesKDub wrote:Exactly, it wouldn't work aesthetically and this just simply isn't the Batman that balances out the Justice League.
It's a very different character from Nolan's Batman.
Personally, I think a Batman/Superman movie would be a good way to introduce a new Batman and establish in people's minds that this is a bigger, badder Batman, one that would fit in a Justice League movie where he will be butting heads with super powered villains and apocalyptic scenarios making the events in the Nolan movies seem like trivial stuff.

That's a great idea. I'd prefer that to a movie telling us Batman's origin AGAIN.Gamerforlife wrote: Personally, I think a Batman/Superman movie would be a good way to introduce a new Batman and establish in people's minds that this is a bigger, badder Batman, one that would fit in a Justice League movie where he will be butting heads with super powered villains and apocalyptic scenarios making the events in the Nolan movies seem like trivial stuff.
