I never got into Dr. Who because I thought it was too damn weird. I loved Sliders though because of the possibility of endless plots for parallel universes. In high school, we watched a few episodes and then wrote up a synopsis for our own episode.
I still remember what mine was: WW2, Japan allies with the US. Pearl Harbor never happened. Germany surprise attacks the US with strategic bombing of capital cities. After the the US retaliates with nuclear strikes against Hitler ending WW2, Japan helped US rebuild culminating in a stronger cultural influence presently. So pretty much modern day US is more like Tokyo. Sliders show up in a very culturally different America.
I got an A.

I would tell you but I plan my future way aheadCurlypaul wrote:
I you do watch it I'd love to know what you think as someone who has no prior knowledge of the series since everybody here already has an opinion on the show whether they have actually seen it or not.
Its not very rare that I plan to watch a tv show or a movie or a game that I play 2-3 years later.
I believe I have Shenmue 2 bought late 2008, still not played:D
btw, the new series are a remake of the old series or they continue on it or they just started from scratch?
Re: About a 90's tv show...
The new series carries on from the old series, there are loads of subtle references to the classic series which make fans like me smile, but if you don't know what they mean I don't think you would even notice that you had missed anything.
You don't need to really know anything about the classic series as the main set up is explained at the start of the new series anyway, since there were no new episodes for so many years that had to do that for the new audience.
