I think Craigslist has potential.

Maybe some day it will be as big as eBay. I know a lot of people on here use it and I noticed friends and family start to take notice.

Obviously there are bargains to be had. I do a "sega" and "nintendo" search each morning and evening. A couple of times it has paid off.

craigslist is also a comedy gold mine. People are so stupid! Yes, please can I buy your old xbox sports games for $12 each? Oh, you want $85 for a gamecube and a couple of shitty shovelware games? No problem. My favorite was when some kid (I'm assuming) wanted to trade his DS for a Wii, straight up. Keep dreaming, people!

That's still better than most of the listing on my employer's company classified ads. It's like people expect to get just about what they paid for the item a year or more ago for computers, video games, etc.)

Craigslist seldomly has super deals listed... excluding the 100 dollar DS and games I bought today (see my Awesome Find!!! thread). its really the garage sales that are key. people that have teh g-sales are trying to get rid of anything and everything and will use nintendo, sega, etc as keywords. often they are willing to let go on the cheap, and that is our place to score. also, even though we are retro freaks, there were collectors before us who are thinking about children, grandchildren, retirement now... so check the garage sale section and plan for the weekend!

I really love the idea of Craigslist, but there aren't very many good finds in my area. I bet the Craigslist scene in bigger cities is way better.

This is why craigs list is good!
If i didn't own a Saturn already I'd jump on it.....still it may be worth it if the games have original cases.

I'd have to disagree. My recent acquisition was a Sega CD 1 for $10 and the seller came to me! Actually, I spent $20 but I also got a MkI Genesis, a complete copy of Mortal Kombat, a power pack and a couple of extra control pads, one 3-button and one 6-button. I've gotten a number of other such deals locally and a few by simply asking if someone was willing to ship an item (they were).

Damn. That's probably the sweetest craigslist posting I've EVER seen.

Also, I thought craigslist was already incredibly popular? Not on the eBay scale of things or anything, but well-known.

I don't believe Craigslist operates outside of the US. Not in NZ anyway.

So, it has no appeal to me.
