SNES remake/compilations?

Post by AppleQueso »

Everyone knows about Super Mario All-Stars, but i'm wondering if there's anything else out there on the SNES with a similar setup of compiling/updating a few older games?

There's Tetris & Dr. Mario, which are basically remakes of the NES games (with the Game Boy music for Tetris) along with some added nifty features.

There's also the underwhelming and overpriced Ninja Gaiden Trilogy.

What are some other good examples of this kind of thing on the SNES?

There's the Dragon Quest I & II compilation and the Dragon Quest III remake, Battletoads & Double Dragon, Ys III, Legend of Heroes I & II (not a compilation though), and uhh that's all I can come up with off the top of my head.

There's also the Super Mario All-Stars / Super Mario World cart.

How about arcade compilations? The SNES has:
Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits
Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1
Nichibutsu Arcade Classics
(Japan only)

On the RPG front:
Wizardry I-II-III: The Story of Llylgamyn (Japan only)

There's also a compilation by Tradewest called Fun 'N' Games, but I think all the games on it are originals.

You know the SNES was still a console where new and original games were coming out and we were still making memories, not trying to relive them like we do now a days which is why the SNES is part of the golden-age of gaming.

Still a legitimate question though.

Hell, we had compilations on the NES and Master System...
