Hi im gonna make this short. I really like this place and have been watching and reading for years now this was always my Favorited retro site to come to in fact I always told people to come here to buy stuff read blogs or if they need help.

I decided to join after a while in hopes to express my opinions and join the community of fellow gamer's and as you all know this has been a rough start lol. I will admit i knew nothing about forums i was not really a social networking guy and i will also admit i made mistakes which im sure were frustrating to all of you. Just please know I did not intend to upset nor double post nor do anything to annoy anyone. Im also not a troll never have been and never will be. I just had bad grammar and was new to all of this.

I just wanted to have a cool place to hang and talk to cool people and this seemed right up my alley. My wife is more experienced with this kinda stuff.

Anyways I would really like to start fresh and not have any enemy's or people who hate me here and i'd be willing to do the same for anyone I have had problems with. So what do ya say friends?

It's cool. I'd say don't worry so much, that's all. I hadn't been aware there were any problems, but as a word of caution, if you talk about yourself like you've already earned some sort of reputation, people might take your word for it even without having seen evidence of it themselves. If you don't draw attention to your perceived shortcomings and just keep pressing on as best you can, most things smooth over eventually.

Not everyone is going to like you - and that's ok.

You don't need to like everyone - and that's ok.

Most of the frustrations you have had, and that has been pointed out to you at times, is simply not following rules the rest of us follow for the good of the site.

The search functions are your best friend often times.

Also, if a thread is moved, it is for a reason. If it is locked, it is for a reason. If it is merged, it is for a reason. That reason will never be that someone doesn't like you.

I will tell you though, read through other threads. People get taken down a notch all the time. However, starting threads about it is only going to exacerbate the drama. Just talk about games dood, or make some jokes, but mostly read more - that is the best way to experience the site. I don't know what the ratio is - but I probably read 50 posts for every post I make.

Thank you, well i was hoping for a few more responses from certain people who used to comment alot on my stuff good and bad but I guess i'll see I figured it was worth a try but if It does not help then whatever I gave it a shot and tried being the bigger man

Why do you keep making threads like this? I seriously don't understand. Just let it go. Nobody hates you in this community but making threads in this vein doesn't really make anyone like you any more.

dreamcast4ever83, please keep one thing in mind on this forum. This is a community and not Facebook. Because it is a community, it is about lots of things. One thing it is NOT about is YOU, or any one individual. I've noticed sometimes people wander into forums expecting to be embraced and talk all about themselves, but forums are often microcosms of larger communities. New members need to earn respect within the community and find their place. You can't just wander in and say "I'm here" and suddenly you're the talk of the town.

Unlike larger communities, the anonymity of a forum can amplify negative attitudes and tendencies until that whole new thing hashes out. Beyond that, some people just aren't a good fit for some communities. What do I mean? I mean that you can't come in and ask the whole community to change for you. You have to be willing to change for the community.

So, participate in good faith and follow the rules. Your best bet as a new member is to read other folks threads and post in those for a while before making your own threads. We are a community of individuals, with some of the advantages and ALL of the disadvantages that brings.

THIS. Simply contribute, participate and quit doing the sympathy rag with yet another thread. All the previous Threads really should be merged.

@ dreamcast4ever - Just from your user name you have an interest in the Dreamcast. Maybe focus on the last Sega console produced and share stories, maybe your take on some of the Dreamcast games?
