adblock plus is what I use, works like a charm: http://adblockplus.org/en/chrome

You'll need a subscription for it, I recommend easylist: http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions

Oh yeah, blocking ads makes a world of difference. I installed abp a year or so ago and I've never looked back.

One thing I just remembered that you should bear in mind: some sites will require you to disable adblock in order to work properly (namely hulu). If you encounter this at some point, you can disable adblock for that specific site by clicking the ABP logo on the top right of the browser.

You can also create exceptions to ad filters that only operate on certain pages, so that you don't have to disable AdBlock altogether.

been using adblock for a long time now.

Pretty much forgot there were ads on the internet haha. It kills me when I see people complaining about sites or forums saying stuff like "all these ads are insane! I can't stand coming here anymore!" and I'm like "this website has ads?"

It even blocks ads on youtube videos which I think is particularly amazing.

Yes, it's *very* useful on YouTube videos. On Firefox, you can even adblock certain images from sites, including a rather annoying avatar trend recently propagating here on the forums... :P

Oh how I wish that feature was in the Safari version of adblock. I'd hate to have to disable all avatars here.
