New Amazing Spider-Man Trailer

Okay, so I watched First Class again tonight, was on HBO.

So after dramatically lowering my expectations compared to my first viewing. . . it was pretty entertaining. It WAS all over the place. A lot of the CGI WAS cheesy. But for what its worth, any movie where Kevin Bacon rides around in a nuclear submarine, Magneto eats some dudes with a barbed wire fence, and the devil from the Mos Eisley Cantina teleports around dropping people from 500 feet, is pretty cool by me.

And I have to say, I forgot how great the score was. I'd say it's one of the more memorable comic book movie scores. . . if it wasn't for the fact that I'd forgotten about it.

Also, a lot of the shots were gorgeous. The 60s setting lent itself to some cool locations. The nuclear core of the sub and the interrogation room they keep emma frost in were standouts.

Although, I'm not sure why Emma stuck around after cutting the two way mirror open, and showing that she's perfectly capable of returning to diamond form even though Magneto said otherwise.

Anyway, 6.8/10.

I say it's a prequel, because of a few things.

Rebecca Romjin's cameo as older Raven, and her looks.
The opening scene was nearly identical with more to it. But it had the same gate scene, the way the soldiers were pulled, the way Erik was knocked out, etc.

Yes but Erik and Charles break up at the end of the movie, but X3 showed them together at a much later point in time (plus Charles was still walking)

Meh, it's neither. It's like the new James bond series keeping Judy Dench around while changing everything else and restarting the story. If anything, it's a reboot of the cinematic x-men universe, while keeping some things around.

I agree with most of this, but let's be serious; the "X-Men movie Universe" is not comparable to 007's in any relative way other than being movies.

The Wolverine cameo is fine because you need Wolverine in an X-Men film. I feel terrible for Hugh however, he gets shit for lines. I know everyone wants to hear "bub", and "I'm the best at what I do", but make it relevant.

Back to Spider-Man:

Any "must haves" as far as Spider-Man game goes? Not a list, just one or two games that stand out from the sea of Spider-Man games that are out there.

I'd probably say Spider-Man 2 on Ps2 and possibly Ultimate Spider-Man (also on Ps2) or the original game on Playstation.

I've enjoyed the time I've put into Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions for PS3 so far (about halfway through). It has Jim Cummings essentially doing his Minsc (Baldur's Gate) voice for one of the villians and NPH as the main Spider-man. Pretty fun.

Thanks man. Luckily I have both of them. I think my gap is between Ultimate Spider-Man and Shattered Dimensions (which I adore). Heard Web of Shadows was a little lame, but a decent story will always reel me in.

Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions. Definitely a must have.
