Why has the world forgotten about Huxley?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Why has the world forgotten about Huxley?

Post by AwesomeMonstar »

With all the crazy press around MAG and the whole push for big online shooters, why does it seem like I am the only person who remembers this game? It looks really pretty, there's plenty of customization and apparently up to 200 people on a battlefield. So why does everyone forget about this game while mag is apparently the bees knees with their horrible character models ( http://kotaku.com/5027094/insider-descr ... -sonys-mag read the article, apparently this is what they are supposed to look like.)?
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

I was all for it until they said only 200 a server. In Planetside I use to run with 200+ man armies, sadly that never happens anymore. I was really hyped for Huxley for a time, it was then described as MMO-UT2k4, but apparently it has changed. That was about a year ago so I guess Ill give it another look.

I want more than 200 people in a battlefield? And are they still doing instanced battlefields like they said they would a year ago? I want constant war, with the ability to enter and exit whenever I need, all while knowing the battle will still be raging when I get back. Is that too much to ask for? I don't want a cap on the number of participants. Hell, bring your entire city, I'll take you all on with the knife!

yeah, i was considering trying planetside out but i hear it's hacked to death these days. Anyways, i think battlefields are operated in certain areas with continuous fighting along with cities operating as safezones. Also... once the player cap crosses around 150 in a battlefield I think the chaos will be just as high as any other player amount. Lastly, they constantly liken the game to unreal on the site so I doubt any changes were made to that style of gameplay.

Not so much hacked, its just people have been playing it since it came out, some since the beta. So they are just really good and know every weakness in every armor. I guess Ill take another look at Huxley, thanks for the reminder.

I'm still interested if the reviews are good (and they let me trial it) and I decide I like it well then...

For some reason despite the fact that we're on a retro gaming forum, that this was going to be a discussion about the author Huxley.

In any case I've never heard of this game before guess I'll go do some research on it. See if it's something I may like.

Who, Aldous Huxley? I thought Brave New World was pretty good, though I really couldn't suggest the film versions...I think it's an interesting look at the times it was written in, with Socialism on the rise in the world.
