Re: Xenoblade Chronicles
^I have a different party depending on the situation. Reyn, Dunban (shared golden chest skill), and Sharla for grinding against monsters at higher levels than us, and I used Shulk, Reyn and Sharla for all the tough mechon battles. I do like to mix in last char for some of the tough grinding.

Haha, thanks for not spoiling it. I think I have a hunch who it could be... maybe. Figured there was one more though.alienjesus wrote:For the toughest battles, I stuck with the Melia, Riki, Sharla combination for sheer effectiveness, but my favourite party members would be Riki, Dunban & Last character.
I guess I need to experiment more with Riki if you guys like him. What kind of role is he? Like support, or tank, etc... he sure does have a ton of HP, but lots of weird spells too.
Shulk, Reyn, and Sharla is definitely a good setup, earliest team in the game and still seems like one of the best. I'm not sure if Shulk, Dunban, and Melia is that great of a team, been playing with that setup today and it feels like I'm kind of all over and struggling with the battles. I can imagine this is a game where any party setup is pretty good for the most part, but yeah.
And yeah it goes without saying, but Reyn and Sharla are hilariously cute, lol...
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles
Just wrapped up all the Eyrth Sea stuff I believe. Yeah the game pretty much levels up 1000x at that point!
Big spoilers up to this point:
Curious about the whole shuttle thing though leaving the area, is that another point of no return?

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles
That is not another point of no return. The next one comes up a bit later. If I remember it's the sneakiest point of no return, so say something when you get to an area that has AMAZING music and lots of gold stuff.
My favorite team is party member 7, Dunban, and Sharla. I build 7 with agility, aggro down, double attack plus, haste, and movement speed. Maybe some other stuff. Member 7 is by far my favorite to play, but he/she is kind of a glass cannon and aggro magnet.
Dunban is really good at keeping the aggro off of 7 and Sharla. His dodge is through the roof if you keep him equipped with light armor. I always max his agility gems and skill links. It may seem like you gain a bunch of defense with that medium and heavy stuff, but it's not worth it. Dunban rocks once you realize that. I forget how I build my Sharla, but it's good. Max level Covert Stance is a lifesaver.
My favorite Rikki line:
Riki: "Sidekicks try hard."
Reyn: "What, who are you calling sidekicks?"
Riki: "Don't see anyone else, must be you."
It goes on, but this was all I saw online. I got it with a Reyn, Shulk, Rikki party.
EDIT: My 1000th post!

And I will say it one more time.
Heropon Rikki is veeeeeeeeeryyyyyyy coooooooooool.
BTW I must have sucked, cause I fought ALL the battles with shulk, cause I was afraid of fighting against mechon without his buff. How do you guys fight them without him?

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles
Riki is a kind of weird mix of roles, but his main skill is laying RIDICULOUS amounts of status effects on enemies. I use burninate (damages and burns all enemies in a large circle), lurgy (damages and poisons all enemies in a large cone), tantrum (damages and breaks all enemies in a large cone), bitey bitey (damages and causes bleed) and a few others. Burn, freeze, bleed and poison stack, so you can cause 4 types of health depleting status effect which causes silly damage to enemies over time. His Say Sorry move removes all those status for an enemy, but increases the damage multiplier for each one, and that can reach silly numbers of damage when he's layered 4 or 5 status effects on an enemy. He also can cause topple, sleep, confuse and paralyse with other moves. Hero Time increases a random stat by a big number, and his healing move is probably the best in the game not owned by Sharla. He takes lots of damage because his defence is really low, but he has the best HP in the game, so it balances quite nicely. I considered him the best character in the game - he has it all - stat boosting, healing, status inducing, and good physical and ether attacks.Xeogred wrote:Haha, thanks for not spoiling it. Early in the game I made sure to have Reyn or Dunban in the party to topple them, mid game I used Melia and Riki's ether attacks to wipe them out, and late game you get tons of weapons that hurt them anyway.ZeroAX wrote:And I will say it one more time.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles
Party member 7 can damage mechon units by default. Later in the game 7 can use Final Cross to auto-topple all your enemies. When I was in mechon populated areas I would equip anti-mechon weapons.ZeroAX wrote:And I will say it one more time.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles
lol, I nearly got slaughtered by a level 108 hox
. It is placed randomly in Satorl March, oddly enough.
And almost done with this behemoth of a game. It has been much longer than I could ever have imagined. Certainly the longest game I have ever played, not like it is a bad thing, but its something one should keep in mind while you play through. It isn't possible to finish it in just a week, you need to play bits and pieces of it.
My party level is 73. I hope I am nearly there haha.
