I have a friend who lives a few blocks off Rocky Point RD! Isn't that area mostly tall trees and very hilly, though?Ziggy587 wrote:Geesh, I've just been told that there's another brush fire. This time it's a little more bizarre because it's been raining on and off for the past week. This time it's on Rocky Point Road which is really close to me. Nothing on New12 yet, hopefully it isn't too bad. Those are the trails I like to ride!
I wonder if it was intentionally set, since it's been raining and all. They had in the paper the other day, the first fire was apparently intentionally set. That doesn't necessarily mean it was set by a pyromaniac, but the investigation isn't finished.
edit: Apparently this new fire was small and already under control.

At the corner of Whiskey Road and Rocky Point Road, there's a huge field area. It's like tall grass or whatever. Apparently that's what was on fire yesterday. I heard sirens around the time the noon horn was going, so I didn't think anything of it. But then my brother called me, he said he drove past there and that field was on fire. But apparently they got it under control rather quickly.
