Any 5 seconds of it is sexier than the world.
It really is the best looking thing since the 90's OVA boom I'd say.

There's also the fact that it does not take itself seriously at all and everything is about having fun and enjoying the ride.Xeogred wrote:Any 5 seconds of it is sexier than the world.![]()

I really love that about Imaishi's stuff, loads of fun with absolutely no barrier of entry.AmishSamurai wrote:There's also the fact that it does not take itself seriously at all and everything is about having fun and enjoying the ride.Xeogred wrote:Any 5 seconds of it is sexier than the world.![]()

I think it had a lot of Kawajiri influences myself, an underrated veteran I'd say (one of his weirdest and coolest projects was Running Man from Neo Tokyo, that was cool stuff). It's on youtube apparently:
But yeah Imaishi... I had a feeling a lot of the staff on Redline most definitely did Dead Leaves as well, haha. That was so WTF, unforgettable and fun stuff.

Redline is alright. Great style and animation from Madhouse, but I didn't find much substance. Oh well. I love Madhouse.
I'm making my way through Katanagatari. 4 episodes to go. Awesome series thus far.

Dead Leaves was the shit.
Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendat
I'm watching:
-Kore wa Zombie desu ka?of the dead(love this series! One of the funniest anime ever)
-HunterxHunter(2011)
-Accel World
-Medaka box(though it kinda sucks so far)
-Zetman
Im going to start watching Shirokuma cafe because it looks absolutely ridiculous, and my friend always posts screens from it on Tumblr. I am also currently waiting for the next season of Horizon in the middle of nowhere.

I'm almost caught up with the new HxH, it has it's ups and downs. On one hand the animation is delicious, the OP/EDs are awesome, and overall it's enjoyable. But the OST is crap (especially when compared to the old series), it feels more childish when the original series kind of felt like seinen/shounen, and there's stuff cut from the original series that I really enjoyed. But from what I hear, I guess the 2011 series is more faithful to the manga and a lot of the stuff in the original that is now gone was filler. It was really good filler though. What I'm really waiting for is the Spiders arc and beyond, I haven't seen anything past that and haven't read any of the manga.
Zetman... it's okay but it's a really bad adaption. I don't like what they did with Kouga and Jin's relationship at all. I'd say it gets a little better with each new episode, but yeah, manga is infinitely better. Guess you can't expect much out of a 13 episode adaption of a 17 volume on-going manga. I have a pretty good feeling of where they're going to end it though, should be interesting to see what they do there.
In many ways, it kind of reminds me of the Gantz and Hellsing (2001) adaptations. They're all enjoyable on some level, have good action, stick to the story pretty closely, but overall deviate far too much from the source material and suffer for it.
