Playing Hyper Duel now (duh). Man, this game's scoring system is kind of mindless. Maybe it that's because it's a product of the early 90s. So far it seems like we've got a survivability score "timer", 100% kill and collecting power ups when you don't need them. I think there might be a bonus for keeping the helper ships or mechs alive.
So in theory, just kill everything in the level and milk the boss by surviving (the score constantly rolls numbers as long as you're alive/in play). Transforming from mech to ship and back seems to pause the score momentarily, so transforming as little as possible adds up.
It's kind of hilarious to see the score always rolling during play. Very 1985.
What shmup are you playing now?

im just addicted to the judgement silversword included on the eschatos disk for the xbox 360. its funny i find that its more enjoyable then the main game. im so impressed that the wonderswan was capable of so much stuff on the screen at once. such an underrated system.

Great game. I've done many a completion on that, it's a good thing cuz you cant continue, but you do get a ton of extra lives.BoneSnapDeez wrote:FIREPOWER 2000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember these things.
1) Stage 1, after you get dropped off, move immediately to the right to get an item box loaded with extra Bullet power which is helpful.
2) At the middle of at least the first 3 (maybe 4) stages, if there is an item box right in the middle of the screen and a large ship comes down to take it away, LET IT. If you destroy the ship after it takes the box, you get *more* power ups from that box.
3) For the stage 2 boss, LASER is your friend. Stay a far distance back and not directly underneath the guns when they shoot. It is much easier with the Jeep. If you die a few times, remember the X-missles make good backups.

360 version? I think I paid like $17 a couple months ago.
I'm a fan of anything Raiden. It is a solid installment.

Yup, 360.
Yeah, between Raiden Project and Raiden Fighters Aces, those are what I've been playing the most recently.
