Random Thoughts Thread

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Haha I do this like three times a year.

I even tried the YouTube thing once too... It didn't go so well.
Add me to the club too, except that I've managed to pump out a handful in the past. Writing is harder than it looks.
True that. I admire anyone who can do it consistently.

I feel like I have plenty to say too... blegh. Maybe one day I'll pump something out. I might try the youtube thing myself sometime.

I don't really like showing stuff off unless i'm really confident that I have something good. It's the same reason I haven't made a game room thread.

I might, I've been toying with the idea of adding a new entry soon, I like the idea of making informative posts more than reviews kind of. I'm good with compiling information and know a lot about the areas of gaming I'm interested in, but with reviews, I feel like everything I write is just really dry and over-verbose. Thanks for the kind words though.

As for King's Field PSP, check it out. Good stuff, but pretty much only for hardcore dungeon crawler fans. Being that you're a big Souls fan you'll probably get a kick out of it at very least. Not too expensive to import either.

I need to update the Japan-only PS3 games list I have on there, and on here too actually.

The YouTube thing... meh. Watching "gamer youtube vids" or whatever just makes me think the dude I'm watching is a douchebag and I don't really care about what he has to say. That said I do kind of enjoy AVGN and the Classic Game Room reviews for whatever reason. I much prefer to just read text.

I think it took an association with Oliver North to finally make me lose interest in the COD franchise. Of all the spokespeople they could have gone with, why pick such a divisive figure?

Dear god as if I needed another reason to hate these games.

Interesting read
Having read the book and scene the film...I agree. It is that sense that the world does not care, that I may die a horrible death in the next minute and yet the horrid life in the Zone will continue on, unflinching and uncaring about my passing, the feeling that there is a cruel world which I may be lucky enough to survive, that really captures me. It makes for an incredible loneliness and melancholy, which pervades throughout the games, especially the first and the third one.

The Liquid Plumber Double Impact commercial kinda creeps me out. I wonder what snaking someone's drain means compared to flushing someone's pipe.

Wait. I don't wonder.

I will definitely check out the game, movie and the source material.

THOUGHT #1: I now have many more video games than CDs. It's a weird feeling as just a couple years ago music was my primary hobby + collecting obsession.

THOUGHT #2
Today is my birthday and marks the day I've been on Racketboy for one year. When I created an account I honestly only planned on making one post (I was asking a question about a PlayStation game) but somehow I ended up sticking around. Celebration time!!!!
