Wii Action Replay?

Post by ElkinFencer10 »

Is there any sort of Action Replay-like device for the Wii? I know about the stupid PowerSaves thing, but that's not what I want. I heard about a homebrew thing for the Wii called Ocarina that lets you cheat like an Action Replay, but I'm iffy about doing anything to alter my Wii's hardware or software (which I assume anything homebrew would involve).

Anyone have any insight into this for me?

Gecko OS is where it's at. Its a homebrew tool. It lets you play imports as well. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Gecko_os

Homebrew is really easy to setup. You just install one channel on your wii and load everything else through it. I've never had a problem. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_setup

I was installing BootMii and whatever, and from that menu I try to load the Homebrew Channel, but my screen goes blank. What did I do wrong? If that's too vague (I'm not sure how to describe it), I can try to video what's going on.

Are you using the hackmii installer v1.0? The only choices should be to install bootmii or the homebrew channel. As I recall, Bootmii must be successfully installed before the homebrew channel can be installed. Did all that go fine?

Just trying to see where things breakdown.

Yeah, I'm using Hackmii v 1.0. When I put the SD card into the Wii and turn the Wii on, I get this screen no problem.

But whenever I select the Homebrew Channel option, the screen just goes black as if I had turned off the Wii (but the Wii power is still on).

Can you load the homebrew channel from the wii system menu?

No, the Homebrew Channel isn't available as a channel on my Wii.

The absolute best hack for Wii out there. Follow it thoroughly and your Wii will be set for anything and protected.
Oh, and it will resolve any issue you have whether you didn't do something correct the first time around.

EDIT: You probably just didn't install the HBC when you installed bootmii. Still, the link is perfection.
