You know, I've heard nothing but good things about this game, and I've even heard some comparisons to Ogre Battle. The PC version (which has way cooler box art) is $13 from Amazon, so I guess I've figured out what to spend the rest of that gift card on. (Why are there so many PC UK imports on Amazon?!)

Expect no story whatsoever (same devs as the SaGa games and stuff). They seem to just care about gameplay, lol.

I just loved the battle system. Imagine if you took your basic FF party, but controlled them all at once... and instead of controlling them one by one, you have control over several parties. Kind of it in a nut shell. Cool world and lots of good music as well, pretty intense optional bosses later on, etc. It started off pretty iffy, but after a few hours I really dug it.

I played it on the 360 which had some slowdown issues and really bad texture popups (Unreal Engine), but yeah the PC version looks dramatically improved. I'm jealous.

I think that, as a general rule, video game stories are very poor. Now, a lot of games have very good writing, but the plots themselves don't often boil down to much more than "kill the bad guy... with angst."

They're cheaper since the retail PC market is larger in the UK. Some games don't get retail release here, but do there (Lost Planet 2, Arkham City GOTY). And, it's a region free device with region free games, so .... why not :D

The only time I don't like it is when they don't tell you. :\

Confession: While I don't find playing a Silent Hill game scary (just sort of tense), the thought of playing a Silent Hill game gives me some serious trepidation.

Confession: Cyrax is my most used character in all flavors of MK3 and I whore out the net and 7 hitter.

Confession: I always screw up the fatalities in an MK game.

Confession: I think while God of War is a solid enough series for various reasons, the game's main game play is usually sub-par. (They should be Shadow of the Colossusing it up and making it nothing but boss fights, because that's what the series excels at. 3 was a big improvement in this department) No amount of blood, boobies, and pretty awesome narrative can make me think God of War 1 is anything remotely close to a great game.

OCD? I'd rather have a digital download than a PEGI logo. :? A lot of titles default to the UK versions and some retailers don't mention what region the game is at all, but clearly sell UK copies of other games...

Plus I'd hate to get locked out of online content because I got the wrong region.

You're going down.

- I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Remnant.

- I'm a big fan of Sonic 3D Blast.

- I used to reenact Super Mario RPG with Nintendo beanie babies.

- I buy Nintendo consoles for Zelda.

- I can't beat Gradius V.

- I love Xenosaga.
:)

None of these confessions are that bad. I though Last Remnant was pretty crappy though haha.

To follow up on yet another Mana related confession: I think I'm the only one who liked Children of Mana.

Nutty!

Currently loving Xenoblade, so I guess I'm a rare one who loves all the Xeno games. 8)

Xenosaga III does challenge Gears a lot though for me, III was really fantastic. I'd say the final stretch in III is probably better than the final stuff in Gears, though I liked some of the characters in Gears more.

I don't really care much for either Earthbound or Chrono Trigger. And I like the Call of Duty series and FPS in general and do not consider them to be the downfall of video games that some have claimed.
