It's a little stopwatch.

Speaking of sidequests, I'm at around 380 beaten now o_0.

I've been avoiding spoilers, but I am told that you will be prompted to confirm that you want to advance the story if you try to move on without completing the time limited quests.

I planned (and have) completed all the Colony 9 quests up to this point, but I don't plan on trying to do everything from here out. Although, if you want access to the better quests and trade items, you need affinity for the area, which means doing the quests!

Okay, well that's good then. I felt like I was moving out from Colony 9 hitting up the Gaur Plain, although there was still a lot of area's on the map I haven't covered on both Colony 9 and the caves... so maybe I go back there again or something? Guess I'll find out.

But yeah that's good they prompt you the point of no return though.

Sounds like the system in Resonance of Fate. That game was on a chapter system and every quest was only available for that chapter, so it'd always prompt you if you had open quests before you progressed to the next chapter.

One of my favorite songs so far:

This one gives off some strong Xenosaga vibes, but nothing in Episode II-III was this awesome in the OST. Man I need to stop spoiling the music for myself, haha.

It seems like ACE+ did most of the composing actually? It's strange I hear they're a group made up of three people, then that's on top of Yoko Shimomura, Manami Kiyota, and Yasunori Mitsuda being involved too. They sure brought in an army to do the music here, and it all comes together perfectly. It's just mindblowing. I won't be surprised if The Last Story can't measure up here.

Is Ether pretty much Arts/Magic? I keep boosting it a lot for Shulk, assuming that's what it's for.

I did all the available Colony 9 quests and all the available Bionis Leg quests and I found myself super OP for the next 3 or 4 areas. Just a warning. I've switched to only doing time-limited quests until later in the game for that reason.

It's magic, useful for the purple and blue attacks (I think). Each color represents a specific type of attack. I remember red being physical which was Shulk's main way of attacking, so don't bother a lot with ether. Keep all those gems for Sharla or Melia

Red, Pink, Yellow and Green arts are all physical and work off of the attack stat, with pink, green and yellow being attacks that inflict break, topple and daze respectively. Purple is offensive ether arts and blue is defensive/support ether arts, and they use the ether stat. Shulk can't really make much use of ether at all.
