I wouldn't say that...but I don't subscribe to the theory that the best team always wins, as some people do.

It was a pretty even game. The Pens dominated early, and the Flyers late.

Too much time spent in professional wrestling country...

Speculation is that the NHL will have him sit out game 2 for that hit. I doubt it because it's the playoffs, but there's no place for that sort of thing in hockey.

Bitz gets a suspension, Weber gets fined. Bitz hit was a shitty, awful hit, I'm not arguing that it should have gotten a suspension...

...but Weber actively grabbed a guys' head and smacked it into the boards. I love Weber and all, Nashville being my second favourite team, but that's some star player favouritism right there.

Weber should get a fairly large fine (like $25,000, not $2,500) and a two game suspension at least. That wasn't a hockey hit. That was deliberate assault.

$2,500 huh?

I know most of the NHL fine policies, but $2,500? Didn't Roenick get fined more for throwing a water bottle while with the 'Yotes?

The Ranger's coach (or was it Philly's?) got a way larger fine just for mouthing off about the Pens.

So, according to Shanahan, bad-mouthing an organization is worse than assault.

More BS from Shanahan and Co.

I'm still pissed about Dunc's long suspension. Now pissed about Weber's non-suspension.

$2,500 is the max a player can be fined under the current CBA.

If it was the regular season, Webber would be sitting out a few games, but I knew the NHL wouldn't suspend him because they have different rules for the playoffs. Just like Malkin a couple of years ago in the finals. Gets a instigator penalty with 19 seconds to go in the game which is automatic one-game suspension. Guess who played the next game?

So, take cheap shots at the end of the game guys, because there won't be any penalty for it other than a small fine...

Zetterberg will be wearing new helmet Gm 2. Weber hit cracked the last one, he said.

Man, the Canucks are playing some distinctly Canucky hockey right now. Not really any major surprises tonight, aside from Philly continuing to play some pretty solid winning hockey.

Well those two have to win Game 3 no matter what, otherwise they better kiss own asses and ask how the heck the game went downhill for each of them.

I do think the Canucks need to subtract a couple of players (including Bobby Lu) and think about their team identity (may need to give the "C" to Kesler) regardless of the this playoff series. As for the Pens, you gotta ask if Sid is going to be the same again, but Gino and Flower needs step up, I have no questions about their roster depth - they shouldn't let the Flyers play mind games with them.

No Goal for Deee-Troit at about 0.01 seconds left in the second period.

Good.

Not a fan of any team that would have Bertuzzi on their squad.
