confusion?!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I think this thread is a good microcosm of our community.

You have some folks telling you it's all good, don't take it personal, and stick around.

You have some folks telling you work toward a thicker skin, put more effort into your posts, and stick around.

Nothing is terribly brutal or insulting. Constructive criticism. I've probably disagreed / debated / argued with 1/2 the members of this board at one time or another but it very rarely delves into personal attacks or childish name-calling. If you rush a post or don't put much effort in then you are prone to criticism - if it goes beyond that, the mods will get involved. There is a lot of racketboy--->gamefaqs being tossed around lately. I don't think the folks saying that have been on gamefaqs. It's really a silly silly thing to keep tossing around, so we can drop that one.

DC4ever, stick around, take the criticisms as constructively as you can and see where you're at in a month.

I wasn't saying that RB is anywhere near as bad as GameFaqs (and yes I have posted on there from time to time) and as far as I can tell its still the best gaming forum around for all sorts of reasons.

I was commenting how I think the its got worse in terms of the number of people I seem getting flamed, most of them new members who admittedly don't know how things roll around here and sometime take it to personal, but still more flaming than usual I think.

Not directed at your post at all, Curly.

Directed at the frequency of that comparison - in MANY threads.

I read "racketboy is turning into gamefaqs..." about 7-8 x per day now. It's really really played, but more importantly, vastly inaccurate.

Well Mr. Dreamcast4ever, please take the time to both read and comprehend what people in this thread are saying to you. Nobody on here is out to get you. The posts in this thread that are criticising you here are actually giving you advice and trying to help you. Strongly consider taking it if you want your experiences on here, other places on the internet and also in real life to be more positive.

I don't have anything to add than what others here have already said. Just, do not take offence to what people in this thread are saying to you. Every single post here is in support of you, believe it or not.

I am just tired of the drama.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Sorry If some of us here (I am at fault too  ) were/are mean.

I hate bullies and being bullied in my childhood has changed me now. We live, we move on.

I (try) am a jokester at heart, and in the thick of things with others posting, one feels inclined to join along.

Even when we post on-line, in forums theres still a somewhat group mentality, not unlike real life. Some sites have rules or people and its hard to break in to them.

Some of us have been here for a long time and some are only here when they have the time, and I guess we all deserve honest, insightful, entertainment.

But some friction is needed, wether good or bad. It does make things a little more interesting. This is the internet, and we have to accept all forms of people.... to an extent.

I don't really think this would be an issue IMO if you knew how the people of the forums acted prior to joining up. I was a lurker to before I joined the forum but beforehand, I read through posts, understood what was in and out at the moment, who was an expert at certain crafts and topics, etc. etc. I also came to the realization that this wasn't some run-of-the-mill forum where clowns exist alla GameFAQs (going by that "joke topic"). I don't know maybe it's just me but this forum is nothing but awesome (no brownie points please). I remember when I joined up I was allergic to the magical Google bar on the top right corner so I was called out on it and learned right quick.

Side note: assuming you use a modern internet browser, doesn't the red squiggly lines bother the crap out of you? They are all over the place and if I copy and paste your original post into Microsoft Word I'd flip my lid. Green squiggly lines where Word tells me its a run on sentence and the random blue squiggly line which I don't even know hoowwwww

I'm to say that the people on this forum are a great bunch of folks. Probably the best group of people ive ever come across on the Internet. I lurked here for around a year or two in 07-09. Also just because a thread isn't against the rules to make...... doesn't mean it should be made.

All I can say is I never on here tried to hurt or be mean to anyone at all IM peaceful and fun loving I only got upset once I was being bullied and if this is just how it is then I don't want be a part of it.

Im 27 years old and I don't need any pity party or drama IM just laid back

The fact is I can't help the fact of my grammar and I try very hard but since your not me you would not understand that now would you? You don't know me and should stop assuming stuff. How bout the guys who were being rude to me? There not being attacked really at all, in fact IM being told that this is my fault LOL what a load of crap in a sad world.

I have issues with grammar learning problems and I can't change that. And you don't and wont understand this so pretty much what it comes down to is this thank you all for replying and thank you to those who were so openminded and understanding! As for you who were still negative or blaming me(i wont name name's) well that's quite sad. That's like telling a person who gets assaulted that it was there fault cause they lack common sense or they were out late or the way they dressed. your the reason this world has so many problems. its really quite pathectic. I may not be perfect but i have never tried to hurt someone on purpose and if you think its a joke you should really grow up cause its not this can be devastateing to some.

The fact is there is no excuse for rude people period end of story and if this world were nicer people would not insult but try to help one another like john Lennon imagine.he was a smart man and got killed because of it. Unfortunately there are people who are so unhappy and miserable or just plain mean that all they can do is try to hurt other's to try to make them selves fell better like the guy calling me a fag which probably did cause he is insecure and likes men himself. (which its ok to be gay) whatever you want I like everyone no matter what gender, race, learning curve or disability they might have, whether there religious or not whatever as long as there open minded and don't try to hurt people because of ignorance or there own insecurity there OK in my book so really I don't care what anyone thinks but if you don't have something nice to say don't say it at all or atlases be contributive

those who think im take this to seriously? well it is a serious matter im ok just upset i'll get over it. but what if a socially awkward person who gets bullied and has no friends and suffers from manic depression gets on here to try and be heard and meet people get s bullied here to and insulted for things they can't help?! it could be very serious and devastating think about it?! that's why im posting this in hopes someone will get the point.

Anyways thanks to you all for replying with the exception of the same few jerks all the way since I signed on and thanks to the moderators for not locking this. I think ill try again in the future and will still read and buy from this site but other then that IM just gonna leave well enough alone for now

Thanks again for those few understanding people that were nice ur the reason I still have faith in humanity :) take care. I still like this site just not some of the people on here. You know who you are I just hope in the future someone else who may no be as strong minded as i does not get hurt cause for some people this can be very very serious and mess them up.

I don't blasme this site at all! I think its fantastic i just don't like some people its like that saying "

Also that pic is me and my wife for those who asked and it is not emo that's just my style and has been for 15 years.

love peace and chicken grease :)

I wish he could've seen some of the shit-talking on NG or shmups.

This place is like a peaceful meadow in comparison.

Telling people in an online forum to grow up because they hurt your feelings when you are 27 and have a wife is pretty facepalm-worthy though.
