Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I have no clue what transpired before this thread, but if someone did call dc4eva83 a "fag" without being provoked...Not cool.

Even provoked that is against board policy.

We're looking into it.

To clarify, even if provoked = Not Cool.

But apparently no one called him a "fag" so I'll put down my wagging finger of disapproval.

I've been posting on this site for almost four years now and I've never had any of the problems you've described. People ask you to correct your grammar and you ignore them or tell them to shut up, yet these are the very people who you ask for help and advice about certain games or video game related problems you are having - not smart. Insulting your screen name was uncalled for, but every website has a few rude people and you have to get over that.

I almost always stay out of these arguments between posters as they go no where and are quite irritating, but making posts like this comes off as exceedingly childish and you have posted several of these before. You need to calm down think about changing how you act on here, if you do people will be less willing to call you out.

I would like to say that this forum is one of the best communities I have ever been part of. People are friendly, lots of good information, very active and an overall nice place to hang out.

I have not seen any of the issues mentioned in the op, and can't imagine any of our long standing members acting with anything but constructive criticism.

I will leave it at that, but one last thing, any grammatical mistakes or typos are fault of typing this out on my phone ;)

I can understand that OP had some issues with being yelled at about his grammar (it was rather harsh insulting, actually) but, overall, this site is pretty laid back.

I mean, I've only been here like a month and so far it's been the most opinion respectful gaming related site I've seen ... ever.

This kind of seems like a combination of effects, a couple users (from what I remember) were irrationally offended at your, admittedly, atrocious grammar. But it seems they might have taken it as an excuse to grief you unnecessarily. However, it also seems that you took the same opportunity to put yourself in a victimizing position and complain about it. It just doesn't seem maturely handled on either point.

If you felt picked on, you should have just reported the incident and then ... moved on ... because that's what adults do. Shrug it off.

If you have some condition that makes this difficult, that really sucks that you'll end up having a harder time in society than other people ... but, that doesn't necessarily mean the world, or these boards, have to change for you. It's just unrealistic (and selfish) to expect others to deal with your personal inabilities.

I think the reason why anyone would have gotten so annoyed is because it didn't look like you were trying. If you really were you would have taken more time to proof read the initial post in this thread.

I'm not defending anyone's actions in terms of name calling ... but from what I saw ... the backlash at your grammar problems wasn't really that bad. I've been called worse for more incorrect reasons. And, frankly, if you're unable to make it here, in this very respectful, robust, and accepting community ... then I don't see how you'd be able to join any gaming community, to be honest.

I'd argue some humility. If you want to be part of the site, then be apart of it. But don't use the way a couple people treated you as a validation for tossing down a pity gauntlet. That's a very irresponsible and selfish way to behave.

And please, work on your writing skills, I feel like I only understood 1/3rd of what you said >_>

Glad to hear that some new arrivals here are still getting a laid back vibe, I seem to keep seeing people getting ragged about grammar, quoting in the wrong place etc. Worries me that as the site keeps growing it will get more and more like gamefaqs. I mean I don't loose sleep over it or anything, but y'know.
