I've had my PSP a little under a month, although it's second hand. Everything has been fine until today, when I went to play Final Fantasy Tactics, and noticed that slim green vertical stripes have appeared the length of the screen. You can still see all the image, but it's very annoying. Is there a simple fix for this, or am I going to have to pay more to get the damn thing fixed than I did to buy it? It appears all the time, whether in the game or menu, and as far as I know the PSP hasnt been dropped, exposed to water etc etc blah de blah.
Typical Sony products. I own 5 different Sony consoles and every single one of them seems to have some sort of hardware problem.
EDIT: Actually, the lines change colour. between red green and blue depending on whats on screen. I doubt it makes any difference, but thought I'd say anyway.
Green lines on PSP 2000 screen.

LCD going bad. You need a new display.

Maybe pick up some component hookups so you can at least play it through your TV.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Oh goody. Just looking online it seems like it'll cost me almost as much to fix as it cost for the whole console in the first place.ZenErik wrote:LCD going bad. You need a new display.
I'm skint, I spent all my money on the console

The lines just disappeared when I pressed the back of the console a bit. Does that mean it's likely to be a connection issue, or is it still likely the screen?

that's interesting. That would kind of sound like a connection problem to me. Hmm.alienjesus wrote:The lines just disappeared when I pressed the back of the console a bit. Does that mean it's likely to be a connection issue, or is it still likely the screen?

Yeah, it's not even that it only does it whilst I apply pressure. It stays like it for a little while, and only occassionally seems to revert back. I don't want to break open the thing and reconnect stuff and void the warranty if its not that though.noiseredux wrote:that's interesting. That would kind of sound like a connection problem to me. So I replaced the screen on my PSP today, and I still have green lines. It's possible I was sent a dud, but before I try and get my money back, is there any other possible cause for this?

I'm jinxed on all my Sony products. Both my PS1s and both my PS2s have various issues too.gtmtnbiker wrote:Man, I feel your pain. It seems that you're jinxed with this PSP.alienjesus wrote:So I replaced the screen on my PSP today, and I still have green lines.
