What are the best sites to buy comic books new and used?

Feel free to PM me a want list of some kind. I've got tons of stuff I'm looking to get rid of and won't gouge you.

Not everyone has a local comic shop. Mine is over an hour away and with gas at almost $4 per gallon shipping is much cheaper and I don't get a wildcard of hoping they have something I want. Since I don't collect new comics anymore it's a back issue hunt and online works best for that most of the time.Luke wrote:Go to your LCS (local comic shop) and support local business. Comics aren't meant to be mailed. They are meant to be purchased bagged and boarded, not stuck in an envelope. But I'm like Brodie when it comes to my comics; I respect them and will slap my best friend across his face if he reads one of my books and doesn't cradle the spine.
Seriously, check out your local shop:

Yes, it's also not always viable.jmbarnes101 wrote:Not everyone has a local comic shop. Things From Another World is my local place, they have free online to store shipping as well. But they just don't have the backstock of other places.
It's great for new stuff. But that's it.

I go to my LCS for new weekly issues. But for back issues, I stick to the site I suggested earlier, http://www.comiccollectorlive.com . It's way cheaper to get back-issues that way, even with the shipping cost.

I might try out Comic Collector Live. Its prices seem most reasonable out of all the other mentioned sites.
And you may get a pm from me in the future... I don't know when but... keep an eye out on that inbox.brunoafh wrote:Feel free to PM me a want list of some kind. I've got tons of stuff I'm looking to get rid of and won't gouge you.

Re: What are the best sites to buy comic books new and used?
My problem is not having enough info from these sites. I have no problem looking this stuff up, but it takes too long at times. I personally prefer trades for ease of reading, lack of ads, and the very much lessened feeling that I must keep it in pristine order. I have trouble picking out just the comic I want from a shelf, and as fast as comics go into trade nowadays I can't help myself.
That, and unless I go during the day, which I can't, my local shop is kinda useless for information. The lady that is usually there is really nice, but all she knows is about the very big name comics and the little free ones she gives out. She's great, but doesn't know as much as any of the other owners of the store.
