Suggestions for you...

No More Heroes series. Definitely consider this. They are hilarious beat em up/hack n slash games with a bunch of nods to retro gaming. One of the best things to come from modern day gaming in my opinion. Amazing music, super fun gameplay, awesome characters, just really can't go wrong.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Not sure if you're into fighters really but I think you would like this game in particular. Lots of good Capcom characters and of course the Tatsunoko cast (Tekkaman Blade, Casshern, Gatchaman... yeah, awesome stuff) is gonna be appealing to you. It's the sole reason I'm keeping my Wii. Great music too. One of the best fighters around this gen which says a lot, being that there are so many good ones. I've sunk so many hours into this one.

House of the Dead Overkill is also really cool, if you like light gun arcade games. There's also the PS3 port but I know nothing about it.

That's all I can really come up with. Wii isn't my thing, but there is some great stuff on the system. Nintendo's boner for first party games/franchises which are pretty much just painfully boring rehashes has made the library pretty lame.

Oh, shit. I forgot about HOD: Overkill. The Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles are solid arcadey shooters. Also, I think R.E.4 Wii Ed. has enough new content and gameplay tweaks to be worth picking up, especiall for its price. (Under $20)

I forget about No More Heroes. Yeah I'll definitely have to look into it.

I should mention what I do own now:
- Zelda Skyward Sword
- Zelda Twilight Princess (beat it before, picked it up again)
- Super Mario Galaxy (beat it when I had a Wii years ago, very excited to play 2)
- New Super Mario Bros
- Metroid Prime Trilogy (luckily bought this when it was new)

Definitely getting Xenoblade.

I played Mario Kart Wii at a friends once and hated it, lol. Granted it was four drunk people trying to play in front of a TV, but yeah the controls seemed awful.

You don't need to use the motion controls, the GC support works wonders.

It controls pretty nice with the nunchuck too. It actually, gasp, becomes a pretty fun game with a nice controller.

Pretty much anything except that stupid wheel. I hate that thing so much.

I used it, but only as a challenge. The game was too easy with the GC controller.

I bought one of the newer Wii models so it doesn't have the GC support (I posted about it somewhere else, but that was a horrible accident). Oh well, figure I'll get an older model someday again and mod that one.

But yeah we all tried the steering wheel... it was hilariously bad.

How about Arc Rise Fantasia or Valhalla Knights? Those any good?

I'd strongly recommend waiting for Xenoblade. It's much better than either of those game and represents the best the system has to offer. (Arguments could be made for classic Virtual Console RPGs, but I'll leave them out of the discussion.)

The Last Story is supposed to be good too... but with some notable slowdown and technical issues preventing it from being a real hit. I haven't actually played that one yet so can't comment directly.

I'm in the camp that Tales of Symphonia Wii is better than critics made it out to be, and would also argue for that RPG over the two you've listed. If you played the GameCube title (or plan to play it) then getting this game is a must as it continues the story.

Arc Rise Fantasia isn't bad, but felt underwhelming. The voice acting/script was hilariously terrible through, search youtube for some examples. Anyone who enjoys really bad voice acting should still check the game out, otherwise it's a mediocre RPG that is only worth playing because the console has limited alternatives.

Valhalla Knights was really bland, ugly, and the gameplay just didn't click for me. If you can get immersed in the game then maybe things improve... but I just couldn't get into it and eventually got rid of the game.

General, non-RPG games that I would recommend checking out:

* Dawn of Discovery (a total overlooked gem if you like Civ/SimCity-type strategy games)
* Dead Space Extraction (maybe skip this and get the HD version?)
* Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (SRPG doesn't really innovate, but is a great series entry)
* Geometry Wars: Galaxies (if you like dual-stick arcade action and chasing high scores, it's incredible)
* MadWorld (yes, it's shallow and repetitive... but also stylish, violent and funny. what do you expect from a brawler that now sells for less than $10?)
* Monster Hunter Tri (best third-party exclusive? best exclusive?)
* Red Steel 2 (massive improvement over the first game)
* Resident Evil (4 is the definitive version, the Chronicles games are great if you like the series lore; HD versions of the Chronicles games either out or coming soon)
* Sakura Wars: So Long My Love (if you like Japanese games, this might be worth checking out; definitely read a review first)
* Shiren the Wanderer (excellent rogue-like, one of the few released on any console this generation)
* Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (solid game, multiple endings, different take on the series)
* Trauma Center/Team (top notch games; Team is the best and expands the gameplay quite a bit)

Great stuff ejamer. I just wonder if Xenoblade will destroy my interest in other JRPG's on the system though, haha. I finally went ahead and ordered a copy, definitely thee reeason why I got a Wii recently pretty much, that and to finally play Skyward Sword.

People might hate me for this, but I'm not sure if I get the Monster Hunter hype. I've watched my friend play a lot of Tri. I'm sure the experience is completely different actually playing it of course... but I dunno. I'd rather wait for PSO2 for something that seems similar to what I saw of Monster Hunter, haha...

Madworld I forgot about but did see around for dirt cheap last night. I guess this one wasn't as good as No More Heroes? But yeah it's so cheap I'll have to check it out.

I never finished Tales of Symphonia but really enjoyed it. I might have to look into the sequel then.

Totally didn't realize there was a Wii Fire Emblem game. Loved the handheld titles but I've missed out on the console ones. I'll definitely think about getting this one.

I was browsing around for more last night myself, what do you guys think of the Klonoa remake? It looked really cool. And how about Wario Land Shake It? Looks interesting.

But man back on pricing... I forgot how expensive Nintendo keeps their first party games. I guess I'm not surprised in the least though. Just like the big Mario games back on the N64 (and before then probably), probably won't ever see them slip below ~$40. I think the only excuse they have in dropping games for the Selects titles or whatever is if a direct sequel to a series comes out Galaxy 2 knocking down Galaxy, Skyward Sword for Twilight Princess, etc.

It sucks. No More Heroes destroys it in quite literally every way. The art direction is cool and it's pretty funny but overall it's crap.

Ah, forgot to mention this one! Yeah, given how much you enjoy SRPGs, this one is a no brainier. It's great. The GC and the Wii ones are the best, so much more to them than the old ones (which are also enjoyable).
