I.e. How would you compare "scores" in platformers? Or RPG's?
Platformers are played similarly to shmups. For 1CC and for hi-score - not many people are into it, but it is done.

I'd be down to play some older stuff that actually had decent scoring systems and was possible to 1CC, thinking stuff like Adventure Island / Super Mario / etc - series.

We have the hyper-linked shmup thread that we could easily sticky in the shmups sub-forum.

Some platformers have point scores, such as Super Mario Bros. Else, you can go by fastest completion time.

You can play run n gun, beat em up, and timed platformers, light rails, etc for score.

But, you can link to stuff not in shmups, even if the sticky is in shmups, so I am pleased.

Thank you!

Thread suggestion: Sonic the Hedgehog - High Scores.

You get points for time left, so scoring routes could be found. You also gain points for chaining enemies, and there are hidden point marks at end of stage and bonus levels.

I always thought this game was SUPPOSED to be played for score.

Yep, all those older platformers, especially the ones released in arcade are played for score or 1CC. Run n' Guns are too.

I'm terrible at Sonic. But i'd be down for others fo sho.

I could defintitely get in on beat-em-ups for score. Maybe even do like Groove Point Ranks for Capcom vs. SNK maybe? Just spitballing.

Threads from the Guides section no longer appear when "View active topics" or View new posts" is clicked. :? :?:

Can this be fixed? The Guides section of the Forum has good information. New members especially might not discover it when clicking new or active posts.

Thanks. Okay now I see it, just added a reply to the Polish Disc Thread. Maybe my browser cache kept it hidden? More likely I'm just nuts and need more coffee.

Can someone fix the header in the AcidTech forum theme/style? It's been quite a while since the boards changed URL and it's always kinda bothered me.
