Wow it sounds like you've put in a lot of time already!

Game arrived at about 1, by the time it was installed and I had finished off the work I was going to do (was working from home yesterday) it was 2, played until quarter to midnight.

So has anyone else noticed that it's much harder to play Renegade as compared to ME2? In my ME2 play through I was the Renegade Shepard who is fanatically loyal to his crew (essentially Malcolm Reynolds, but I hadn't seen Firefly yet). But continuing to play my character the way I've been doing previously has been getting me a much more balanced set of points.

I wish these games did a better job of keeping you informed of what you've done. I just discovered that a certain character from ME 2 is dead on my ME 3 save. What pisses me off is that I know I had an end game save from ME 2 where that character lived. However, when you're using the ME 3 import feature there is absolutely no way at all to tell which ME 2 save has her alive on it. So I accidentally picked the one where she's dead

Even more annoying is that if I pop ME 2 in and load up an and end game save from that game, THAT game gives you no way of knowing if she's alive either. The in game journal does a really shitty job of keeping track of what's happened in the game. I remember Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic being much better about this. I'm kind of pissed right now and don't feel like jumping back into ME 3 for a while. I'm going to have to load up a random save from ME 2 and try and save her again and then remember which file I saved on, then start up ME 3 AGAIN from the beginning of the game after importing that save. Aaaargh

For those of you who beat ME 2, the character I'm talking about is
Kelly Chambers

Anyone else feel that this is the weakest of the Mass Effect games? I know I'm probably in the minority but I'm just not having as much fun with this game.

Yeah, I am about 17-18 hours in...and so far am just not feeling it like I did with the first two. I can't put my finger on why, yet, though...

EXACTLY how I feel. So far, the environments seem lacking. I'm also not too happy with the squad members this time around. But again, I'm not super far into it soo there's still hope.

I wish I could share some thoughts, but I'm running through ME 2 again. There's quite a few things I didn't get around to doing in that game I've come to realize, and I want that perfect save to carry over into ME 3. You know my initial thoughts on ME 2 when I finished it the first time after it first came out was that it was great, but not as great as the first game. Now that I'm playing it on Insanity difficulty, it's seem way more fun than I remembered it being. I think difficulty really does play a role in how enjoyable these games are. It's just pushing me to do stuff I never did when playing the game on normal

I hope I'll find the same amount of fun in ME 3 whenever I run through that game on Insanity.

I recall the import having a general assessment of key points, stating how many survived the suicide mission at the end of 2, just not specifically which ones.

AFAIK, the board of names outside the elevator on the Normandy does list the deceased.
