Ehh. I think it will end up like "Super". A potentially good idea, that gets so fucked by the end it ruins the movie.
I saw Project-X. Its the only example of 'video camera' style I liked. Something about how well done and authentic it is just leaves with this exalted, "That just happened." feeling. I know many that wouldn't like it, but that's a fucking party.
A cool little sci-fi flick with high-production values, an interesting story and concept, and good actors. Worth a rental for sci-fi fans, but not a purchase.
To me it seemed the story was mirroring the 1% vs. the 99% in America, but using time as the commodity rather than money.
You know I wasn't even thinking about super when I saw that. I was thinking of falling down actually. Super was more typical in that he went after criminals. And he had a more specific goal. Plus it had the superhero aspect. It was also very uneven. Although this might be too.
Taken with a grain of salt, it's not too bad, but there's worse out there.
But frankly, it seems like each movies goes closer towards "generic hyperslick sci-fi action" and farther away from "atmospheric survival horror". I think the next film should just be done without the Resident Evil name on it. Basically, just reimagine it as something not connected to the RE franchise (just a simple rewrite and replacing the Umbrella logo).

I think thats the predominate opinion of a lot of people. Even with all the changes, the first movie was fine and is probably one of the better video game related films released. But after that all of the sequels started to diverge to the point where nothing, with the exception of the lead actress, even resembled anything that was established in the first film. That's why I only own the first one (On bluray no less. Zombies always look good on bluray).
Oh god that guy. Seriously, what did anyone expect? It was only a matter of time.
