Megaupload Dead
Re: Megaupload Dead
The move against Megaupload had nothing to do with stopping piracy. It was about stopping Megaupload.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

^ Didn't some one in this thread say something about money laundering regarding the take down of Megaupload?
Yes, with a "but." When asked on SOR if Tux would allow his releases to be uploaded to UG, he said he didn't mind, but he didn't recommend it. The reason being is that they wouldn't be as current as the ones he had up on his SOR page. If he made a new version of a release, he would update it on his thread. If the old release is on UG, it will remain there, even if some one is nice enough to upload the new release.gtmtnbiker wrote:Ziggy587 wrote: So, where should I get my TuxTheWise DCRES releases now? I'm sure shutting down MU and getting Dotcom was just one of the many intents the FBI had, I don't think it'd be far fetched for them to think it'd do something against piracy.
Ziggy, you should seriously read about the whole incident though revolving around the owner Kim Dotcom. It was utterly hilarious and sounded like stuff out of a movie. Lots of action going on with MU and Hong Kong especially, think it hurt a lot of underground transactions since money was frozen when they shut down MU. Some of it sounded pretty far fetched, like Dotcom supposedly holding a shotgun in his hands when he was found in one of his many villa's haha, but yeah.
I just hate the aftermath it caused which we're still recovering from. I stick with DepositFiles now, but yeah. More alternatives are popping up like I predicted, but nothing as good as MU was.

There are several DCRES packs on UG from a user named TuxTheWise. Could be an impersonator but I don't think so.Ziggy587 wrote: Yes, with a "but." When asked on SOR if Tux would allow his releases to be uploaded to UG, he said he didn't mind, but he didn't recommend it.

I still think Mediafire is the next best thing, since it has no time limitations on downloads.Xeogred wrote:I'm sure shutting down MU and getting Dotcom was just one of the many intents the FBI had, I don't think it'd be far fetched for them to think it'd do something against piracy.

Re: Megaupload Dead
I figured Megaupload's death would have no effect on me, but I was wrong. I often will be searching for something I want to download (patches for old games, mods, etc.) and the link for the download will be to Megaupload.

I've been to that site, but every time I go there, I can never find any seeded torrents.elmagicochrisg wrote:Kickass Torrents in combination with µtorrent...Xeogred wrote:Yeah, it's only downside (mentioned before I think) is the 200mb limit.lisalover1 wrote:I still think Mediafire is the next best thing, since it has no time limitations on downloads.

Re: Megaupload Dead
That's the thing with torrents. If you look for older or less popular stuff chances are you won't find many seeders. For new movies and things like the latest The Walking Dead episodes for instance they are good...lisalover1 wrote:I've been to that site, but every time I go there, I can never find any seeded torrents.![]()
