^As for swapping the laser out, never hurts to have options so I will def consider that as well. Thanks iwcook and to all who tried to help.

Don't forget to swap the buttons too, or you will have a sleek white console with ugly ass buttons.
Keep in mind that idea means you'd still need region switches for several things:
50hz optimized games
legal King of Fighters 95 copies
legal Ultraman: Hikari no Kyojin Densetsu copies
legal imports with very large save files (because action replay makes you unable to use the backup ram cart)
KOF 95 and this Ultraman are import only releases with unique carts, so action replay can't region bypass them on a us saturn. Obviously though region patched backups could be played with the modchip.
And neither action replay or modchip may affect graphics mode. any games programmed for 50hz won't run correctly even with them together.
