My pick is:

Picked this up a few years back, a battered and neglected cartridge for $2.00 from Cash Converters. I'd never heard of the game but I can't leave such a thing behind. It ended up being the game that fired up my fascination with shooters for the console. Pretty simple and the graphics aren't the best but I adore the weapon upgrade system and the way the 'options' operate. Very compelling. Sure there are better shooters on the system but this one keeps me coming back for more.

How cool is this Sonic game? Not only is a fantastic game on it's own, the first one allowing you play as Knuckles at that, but it also has some of the best sound and 2D graphics on the Genesis. But the coolest part, is that it changes the original Sonic Genesis Trilogy when you hook them into the cartridge ala Game Genie style.

Best Sonic game ever made IMO, sorry Sonic CD. The game is already head and shoulders above every other Sonic game on its own. The fact that Sonic 3 can be added on for an even bigger game just makes an already perfect game even more incredible.

43. Mick and Mack Global Gladiators

Yeah, that's right, a McDonald's game. Guess what? It's actually good. It's basically a action oriented platform game built around this idea of helping the environment. So if you want a game with a positive message, there you go. The animation is nice, as David Perry was involved with this game. Tommy Tallarico did the music, so of course it's pretty good. The game has great voice samples too, like hearing your character scream when he falls off a high ledge  . Basically, if you like games like Earthworm Jim, this might be right up your alley. This is sort of a follow up to the game MC Kids for anyone familiar with that one. Random note, when the Virgin logo comes up when you start up the game you actually hear, "Virgin!". There's something very funny about that.

One of the first character creation systems in gaming history, and it was real fun to choose what stats to enhance and work your way up to #1.
