I don't really consider the modified SFC carts to be "repros". I mean, it's a game that came out only in Japan, so you buy the Japanese game, then mod it so you can read it. I think it's actually more collectible than what the internet calls "repro" carts, which are really just nice looking bootleg carts. But that's neither here nor there.Zing wrote:That SFC cart does looks nice.
I've never seriously considered any reproductions. I guess I just have more than enough games already.
Some of the SNES repros are some of the best games the consoles have to offer. I haven't played all of these yet, but Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2), Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia and Final Fantasy 5 are all amazing SNES games. If you like the SNES, you should consider playing these games (assuming you've already played all the greatest state-side games). There's always flash carts, which is the best option in my opinion (completely ignoring emulators and copiers).
I'm playing this one without looking at any guides. I have the strategy guide for FF4, and I was glancing at it now and then while I played through the game. But I honestly find using guides to be annoying. This game I'm playing blind. So when I got up to Atmos, I was really surprised. He opened up with two of those comet attacks in a row and KO'ed some one. I knew I was coming up on a boss fight, but I was thinking it was gonna be Gilgamesh again, which has pretty much been a pushover every time.MrPopo wrote:Yes he is. One of the harder boss fights in the game.
At this point in the game, my Knight has mastered his job (since I never switched his jobs). So now that he's mastered, I switched him to Mystic Knight. I didn't feel like switching him to anything else and dealing with a trade off. I have another character that just mastered white mage, and I have her up to level 3 as a time mage now. I'm trying to get my black mage to master red mage, but I also use him to summon. Not sure if that's wise giving him all three tasks. I might try to get my Knight to learn summon so I can better focus my black/red mage, but then the knight will lose his double grip ability for the summon ability. The last character was a thief for a while, now he's a ninja. I was thinking about switching him to the samurai class when I got it, but I think the ninja abilities are better.
Am I being effective? I didn't really read any guides on the job system. Just a little about what abilities I can get with the classes I'm using, but nothing other than that.
