What was the last movie you've seen?

Thought this would be the appropriate thread for the man inside Nicolas Cage.

As such, let's take a look at some of Cage's finest moments, in song form.Luke wrote:Thought this would be the appropriate thread for the man inside Nicolas Cage.

No, not at all. It must be nice being able to view that on such a large scale on a daily basis.Michi wrote:I got the movie poster from a little theatre that was down the street from my college. The one where she's sitting in front of the chalkboard. Considering it's the only horror movie poster I have, it's not a bad one to have overall.Nintendork666 wrote:Jennifer's Body (2009)

Interview (2007)
A Steve Buscemi-directed film that I absolutely loved the first time around. This was my second watch, and I still liked it, but not nearly as much as my original viewing. It's very realistic, and slow-burning; which I like, and there's some good dialogue to be found.
I'd recommend it for anyone into Buscemi, or films with a high sense of realism.

Get Shorty
My wife loves this movie and I'd never watched it so we did the other night. It was great. Travolta was great as his normal Travolta-self, but the character I really loved was Ray "Bones" Barboni. Dennis Farina never fails to make me laugh with his wiseguyisms. Had I realized he was in this movie I would have watched it sooner. He's got the best lines in the whole picture. I really enjoyed the movie. I've seen bits and pieces of Be Cool, but not the whole thing so I'll eventually catch up with that one.
I've been chuckling to myself for the last few days because of Farina's character's lines in Get Shorty. My favorite exchange in the film was this one:
Ray Bones: Let me explain something to you. Momo is dead. Which means that everything he had now belongs to Jimmy Cap, including you. Which also means, that when I speak, I speak for Jimmy. E.g., from now on, you start showing me the proper fucking respect.
Chili Palmer: "E.g." means "for example". What I think you want to say is "I.e.".
Ray Bones: Bullshit! That's short for "ergo".
Chili Palmer: Ask your man.
Bodyguard: To the best of my knowledge, "e.g." means "for example".
Ray Bones: E.g., i.e., fuck you! The point is this: is that, When I say "jump", you say "OK", okay?
- delivered only the way Farina can. Hilarious.

BE COOL is the ugly stepsister of GET SHORTY. If you watch it thinking that it will be a sequel to shorty, you'll be disappointed. If you simply watch it, you'll still probably be disappointed.

Project X is pretty fun in a packed theater. It's exactly what I expected, but that's not a bad thing.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
^ Ahhh, I like Be Cool. I first saw it in the theaters, and at that time I haven't seen Get Shorty. I'll definitely agree, Get Shorty is much better. But as far a sequels go, Be Cool isn't that bad. The Whole Ten yards, now that was a movie that should be ashamed of itself for being a sequel.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Both are awful.
BE COOL is nothing but one note characters, self reference jokes, and a slew of cameos of people being themselves. Vince Vaugn's only joke is that he thinks he is black. The Rock's joke is that he's gay. Those aren't really jokes, and the actual Elliot Wilhelm would not approve.
Travolta doesn't really have a joke other than he makes references to other movies he's been in. He does dance, but when he does it serves no purpose other than to say "Hey, remember the other movies I danced in?". And there is a reason why Andre 3000 doesn't have much of an acting resume of being in decent movies.
But I like CAN'T HARDLY WAIT, which isn't that good of a movie either. Some things we just enjoy even if they are bad. But in all seriousness, BE COOL is really, really bad.
